2 Years ago, I started my first tour. In that time, I went through a lot of self re discovery, learning that how I was going about being an indie artist was wrong. I started doubting myself and being worried about my age and not 'blowing up' yet. So in that two years, with the support of my team & my family, I invested all my time, money, and effort into gaining REAL FANS, and touring. In that two years I went on 5 National tours, and I realized that its not about your age, its about your passion, Its not about your 'hit record', its about touching one fan at a time, and being as close as possible with them in every way, making every move about them, and most importantly its about being yourself. I took all the Negative thoughts and darkness (Night), and turned it into positivity, passion, grind and crazy shows every night on tour (Light). This project takes you on the two year journey in our messy tour van, in every city, to every party, to each hotel, introduces you to the chick from a show that ended up being around longer than expected, through my mind when I felt like I was letting down the Woman I love, and to each after party. It also brings you in on my trip to self discovery, and self happiness... Forget what anyone has to say about you, do what you want, #LightUpTheNight.... Enjoy...

Coming off of a national television appearance on NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly”, appearances at the 3rd Annual Low End Theory Festival in LA & Oakland’s Hiero Day, and a #17 spot on iTunes Hot Albums for his recent album “Cassidy Howell”, Los Angeles rapper Sahtyre releases his new EP “The Gorgeous Darkness” on Below System Records.

Cassidy Howell also known as Sahtyre embodies a unique, diverse character which shines brilliantly through his art. A voracious lover of music, Sahtyre credits the development of his laid back yet quick witted style on a diverse set of influences. He credits everybody from “Old Eminem”, Snoop and Redman to undergrounds legends like Thirstin Howl III and the Outsidaz as some of his most powerful influences. Yet, his truest inspirations are musicians that transcend the normal boundaries of Hip Hop including legendary rock stars Jimi Hendrix, John Frusciante and Kurt Cobain and timeless soul musicians like James Brown and Marvin Gaye.

“The Gorgeous Darkness” is a 7 track EP including guest features by Trizz, Bobby Bucher, Lenka Shockley and Ash Riser. Production provided by Chase Moore, Stinje, Left Brain of Odd Future, Ash Riser and also production and live instrumentation by Sahtyre himself as Cassidy Howell to name a few of the producers.

Sahtyre adds “My art is a side effect of my neurosis. For the past year I've created relentlessly. Writing, practicing my instruments, making beats, painting, and who knows what else for sometimes days on end nonstop. “I've taken you up to “The Attic”, showed you around and introduced you to a few of the homies. Now I’m going to take you through The Basement, it gets real spooky down here." Inland Empire/Los Angeles emcee, Trizz is readying the follow up to his 2018 album “The Attic”. To be released via Below System Records on March 15th, “The Basement” is another tour through the same little house of horrors.

Claustrophobic trap drums, skittery synth tones and snatches of horns, strings and vocal samples are the backdrop for Trizz’s “been there, done that” vocal tone. Autobiographical tales of love gone wrong, romances with illicit substances and street life operas are swept up in a dark hallucinogenic haze of gore and seen through a cold and distorted glass bottle full of lean.

Speaking on his musical themes, the emcee revealed “I believe in the afterlife, hell and heaven, demons and angels. The horror in my music comes from a real place including things I’ve seen as well as nightmares and visions I have had.” Long haunted by those visions, Trizz began self-releasing projects in his teens (including his early and equally grim break-through release, “Case 17”). “The Basement” marks his 9th solo project.

Joining him on this latest entry of tales from the hood are co-hosts Rittz (formerly of Strange Music), T.F, Roc$tedy, Xavier and Audio Push. Some of his past work includes collaborations with G Perico, Rob $tone, Bizarre (D12) and Brotha Lynch Hung.

Production on “The Basement” are done by Stone’s Neighbor, Oh Gosh Leotus, SexCurryBeats, C. Ray, Audio King, DJ Rybe and Beatnick Dee.

In addition to his voluminous solo work, Trizz has released several weed-centric EP’s and albums with Sacramento emcee Chuuwee (including “AmeriKKa’s Most Blunted” 1, 2 and 3, the “Two Puff Pass” EP and “The Smoke Out” EP) with a bulk of the production handled by AC3Beats. The duo have completed numerous tours together.
