This is the prequel to "The Man On Boothill"

They are both part of a fake story I came up with. Here's how this one goes.

Setting: a wedding in Tombstone, Arizona
The man married a woman, the daughter of (I'll call him the priest). The woman was pregnant before the wed and the whole family knew. Both sets of parents were present at their wedding, except the priest. The priest disproved of the man (we'll call him the sheriff) defiling his daughter under God, before marriage and warned him about his hatred for the sheriff. They wed, shortly after, but it was too late for the the priest had become corrupt and in an act of rage (not having much practice with a gun, as a man of the Lord) he shot down the sheriff. Only, with his untrained hand, it was his daughter that fell. And when the daughter fell, so did the unborn child, and that angered the priest more who shot the sheriff's parents and the sheriff down... To be continued

The Man Who Killed

This is the sequel to "The Man Who Killed".

They are both part of a fake story I came up with. Here's how this one goes.

After the killing of The Man On Boothill (basically mean the man that's already dead, because Boot Hill is an old term for graveyard) he spends the rest of his strength and life (we're not sure if he's alive or dead) hunting down his family's murder. His life being taken as a sheriff, he reincarnates as the world's baddest outlaw in order to avenge his old life. This takes place in Tombstone, Arizona.

The Man On Boothill

To Walk On Water's final adaptation has captured its predecessor's original instrumental ensemble sound and raised the bar into an epic plea that can only ask and receive praise for it's calming rhythm and dancing drums reflecting walking on water.

To Walk On Water was Harriers Of Discord's very first instrumental, with a calming tempo that could take you back to a time when electronics weren't apparent to music.

The remix, on the other hand, is Harriers Of Discord's very first electronic song, still with the same liquid vibe that will leave you melting, but with an added kick of bass, dance, and an appreciation (or a plea) for humanity's work. It's predecessor had such an amazing story to tell, it would have been a shame not to bring the words out for you to hear as well.

And so we will end with this: music is my religion

To Walk On Water (Remix)

A haunting track equipped with spurs, stomps and a love of death. This track was inspired by a series I had read about the love between Death and his daughters and occupants.
The story and plot was so moving, I became slightly obsessed (not that I haven't ever been into polytheistic religions before) with the idea that Death was a mercy to life, for if we didn't die we would grow old and rot and always remain aware. I loved the idea that Death was in fact a physical thing that was always feared and misunderstood, much like the story of Hades.
Why wouldn't death love it's spoils? Thus we have "The Watcher", the lullaby through Death's very own perspective. In all attempts to retain it's lulling qualities, I physically couldn't keep it soft enough for it to remain a simple "sing this to sleep" sort of thing, though it was my intention. I wanted to create a song that would be sung the way "Rock-a-bye baby", or "London bridges", or "Ring Around the Rosie" would be, where there meanings are morbid for a children's nursery rhyme and you grow up going, "what the hell were my parent's thinking?". But rather than scaring the young I really wanted to embody the story of love between us and death, making it more of a reassurance than a warning.

In the end, I feel it started as a simple lullaby and ended as much more, and I hope you enjoy it.

You Were Right

I love the blues and became determined to learn to play when I found my beautiful Eastman archtop guitar up for sale, second hand for a bargain price, in Jan 2012. As soon as I touched it I fell in love.

I first tried playing guitar several decades ago: with unrealistic teenaged enthusiasm I fully expected to sound like Hendrix within a month or two while practising just thirty minutes a week. I gave up when I still struggled to tune my guitar and the cowboy chords I'd learnt sounded really rough when I literally banged on them. Girls were much more interesting.

In my late thirties I had a mid-life crisis(!), so I  bought a US Strat and a Gibson LP Pro, determined to learn to be an ageing 'bedroom rock star'. I was working long and hard hours so only practised on odd weekends, always wondering why following tab and listening to CD lessons was not working. I decided I was tone deaf and incompetent, so yet again, I gave up, still unable to master bar chords, convinced I would never be able to play.

As an early retiree, I decided to give it a final attempt when I found my black beauty: the first few years were a journey of discovery, discipline and sore fingers. I practised most days (except when arthritis in my joints and a trapped nerve in my shoulder 'froze' my fretting pinkie and sent my thumb totally numb). Back then, I trawled YouTube and bought a DVD course of lessons, and plugged away. It was worth it as I really enjoyed the fairly limited range of things I could play.

When I first arrived on Soundcloud, I was not expecting to find such a talented and helpful community. I just wanted to upload a jam track for my friends to hear, then I found the amazing wealth of creativity here. 

Sadly, my frozen shoulder, trapped nerve and related problems have pretty much stopped my guitar ambitions since 2016.

However, I still have a blast exploring all the fabulous originals and covers so many relatively unknown, but hugely talented, musicians have conjured up for the SC community. In my first five weeks on here I downloaded c100 tracks and 'liked' hundreds more, and since then I have created many playlists that I regularly listen to depending on my mood...

Simon Cowell and his ilk (overpaid gatekeepers/brand creators/ubercapitalists) have, until now, throttled mass talent for the sake of creating a relative handful of extremely wealthy 'cash cow' celebs.

Who needs these supposedly 'professional talent spotters' and their artificially enhanced 'celebrities'? The internet rocks!

NB If you too suffer from joint pain, RSI or trapped nerves I highly recommend this free DIY pain relief site: it is not just for guitar related injuries but pain anywhere in the body pretty much, and the techniques used really do work - although for me, they provide just temporary relief. Good luck!
