Empires of Dirt is the new EP from CASKO the techno alias of Chafik Chennouf, Moroccan born, Amsterdam based producer, DJ and head of Leyla Records.

Each of the four muscular tracks are tensely constructed around field recordings and vocal samples recorded in the shelter where Chennouf works with undocumented people with psychiatric conditions. Chafik approached this as a community art project to give a platform to the unheard and unseen. He explains this EP is an attempt to highlight and address the traumas of the refugee crisis, precipitated by the actions and inactions of western governments that cause people from North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East to suffer the loss of their homes and cites and to be forced to flee, to become undocumented in the west and to suffer once again, already in the new land but still traversing the old borders.

New London based electronic music label Khemia Records announces its first split release vinyl Ep. The curatorial agenda for the label retrospectively reflects the programming of the KAOS London events.

The “Vernal Equinox Edition” Ep delivers two muscular, tensile tracks extending over more than nine minutes, across each of the “Solar” and “Lunar” sides.

“La Grille” on the Solar side, is a masterclass in hypnotic sonics. A propulsive proto-techno monster from cult veteran French producer In Aeternam Vale. “La Grille” has already captivated the KAOS dance floor with the insistent momentum of its hammered rhythms, reverberating echoes and intense emotional crescendos.

On the Lunar Side Bronze Teeth delivers “Rude Movements” a virtuoso attack of left-field modular electronics with the construction of a caustic, industrial broken-beat experiment. Distorted kicks are balanced, despite the aggression. Shaded noise remains rhythmic even as the track veers
out of control into the feral chaos of static hiss and incendiary clatter of abrasive dissonance.
Taken together the tracks on this first release map the boundaries and liminal sonic territories that Khemia Records sets out to explore.

London based electronic music label Khemia Records announces its second split release vinyl Ep. 

Aurora on the Lunar side is a new work created for Khemia by venerable Canadian producers Orphx. 

Crepuscular, infrasonic hydro-acoustics submerge padding rhythms, emerging gradually through oscillations and the caustic snarl of static, into a mutant echo chamber of polyrhythmic hypnosis and fractal bleeps to be finally swept away by vast, billowing swathes of spectral harmonics. 

Emboli, on the Solar Side is a new track written specially for Khemia by the enigmatic sound artist Rrose. 

Cascades of iridescent particles coruscate against the shadow of an ominous dirge, crashing into a wall of slurred rhythm that opens into a glacial abyss, punctuated by a fearfully insistent whiplash that finally dissolves into a quantum field of bituminous drones.

On the Solar Side I Hate Models delivers Cyanure Dance an epic voyage of full emotional intensity with an insistent acid bass line, psychedelic punk-wave distortion, stratospheric arpeggios and ethereal vocals courtesy of the artist himself.

On the Lunar side Vittorio Di Mango presents Epilessia, aimed straight to the jugular, a peak-time dance-floor destroyer constructed with machine gun precision over crystalline snares and opiated vocal reverberations.

Between them they form the Nigredo Edition.

On the Solar side Blush Response delivers ‘You Will Cry Out In Grief’ a maelstrom of industrial electronics seethes under a furious barrage of complex rhythms, as evolving symmetries disperse into incandescence.

On the Lunar side Years of Denial meet Alexey Volkov in the first of a new collaborative series - ‘Confess’. Barkosina Hanusova’s voice ricochets against caustic snares as she intones a fetishistic ritual of contorted flesh and altered states.

Together they form the Albedo Edition.

Midnight Cults, the eagerly awaited sequel to last years Cyanure Dance features two epic new tracks from I Hate Models with vocal contributions from Zanias and a sleek wave remix from DJ Varsovie.

On the solar side the odyssey begins. It Will Last Forever discharges a barrage of devastating, tensile beats over a swell of ethereal synths recalling the sirens - muses of the underworld, luring sailors to their deaths in a flurry of aggravated arpeggios.

On the lunar side Walpurgis Night opens with a pristine, glacial sonic field, punctuated by the ricochet of beaten metal and drenched in the supernal, disembodied voice of Zanias, echoing across vast fissures, pummelling through deep ravines and back out into space.

DJ Varsovie completes the journey with his sensual take on Walpurgis Night, tempering the original with an insistent pitch black funk and somnambulant new wave vocals.

For our eleventh release we are excited to be working with five artists who are all new to the label. 

Rendered open proceedings on side A with a nod to COIL in their psychedelically propulsive workout Analstairface. End Train follows, steering his machines with tactile precision between acerbic acid lines and cavernous synths, crashing through a brutal onslaught of splintered beats that finally open into space. 

Side B starts with the claustrophobic tension of WarinD’s Still Left In There, featuring Huren’s disembodied snarl, tearing at the relentless machine funk. This is followed by the insistent, martial urgency of Distant’s Hydrargyra, scaling vast heights of immaculate sonic architecture to an emotional pinnacle that is finally resolved in the EBM drenched romanticism of Lapse of Reason’s Go Away.

For the 12th release on Khemia Records we are launching our digital only series with a new Ep by t_error 404, a Moscow based post-industrial project founded by Vladimir Cherepanov in 2006. 

An insistent martial snarl doused with sinister synths, ghostly overtures, haunted hums and refrigerated reverb. The opening track Spacemorgue is a hypnotic trip of vociferous bass, crashing through immense slabs of electrostatic discord.

Blind Delon was founded in 2016 by Mathis Kolkoz, a French artist who draws his energy from coldwave and synthwave references channeled through the use of ancient synthesizers, icy bass lines and black romanticism, all combined with a raw elegance and melancholy.

Discipline - Blind Delon’s first album features a stunning sound design, laced with dark energy and a daring lyricism. The album, although written and composed by the band, is an all star collaboration with Kris Baha, Lapse Of Reason, Incendie, I Hate Models, and others.

Previously released as a six track album on CD format by Unknown Pleasures this new vinyl pressing features the four dance floor oriented tracks from the album. 

We have also commissioned a remix of Rule I by legendary French electronic producer In Aeternam Vale, available as a free digital download when you purchase the album.

In this, his inaugural release, LAW334 welcomes the listener to his musical language through four tracks. 

Arco and Wire Hangers are two synth dominated techno cuts that bookend a more experimental offering in Veils; an abstracted exercise in audio processing bassoon samples. In the closing track Panspermia, Choronzon takes the wheel to LAW334's engines in an ecstatic trance through a distorted desert landscape.

Prophän is the solo electronic music project of Othman Cherradi, based in Casablanca, Morocco. Cherradi runs the experimental techno label Rhadâb and is the co-founder, alongside Nova Ouacheb, of Mindless a series of live events, podcasts and radio broadcasts.

Prophän acknowledges a wide spectrum of musical inspirations, ranging from industrial and post-punk to the undeniable influence of local trance-inducing musical practices and customs that surround him in North Africa.

In Cherradi’s own words “This album is a culmination of all those influences and was formed at the beginning of the pandemic, a time of great confusion where I felt creating something new and authentic was the only way to get past the feelings of emptiness and impending doom. It is an attempt to bridge between islamo-sufism and industrial music . It was made with religious fear as a main motivation, the world is crumbling apart, the judgement day is nearing, repent before it's too late”.
