Once años después de que en la primera temporada de EM repasásemos su carrera volvemos a meterle en el tintero de nuestra conversación y de tu oído. Un florilegio musical formado por las caras Bs de sus discos, canciones menos mainstreameadas pero del mismo nivel de genialidad. 

Que decir de Richard D. James, es simplemente el músico más influyente y vanguardista de la historia de la electrónica. Te puede gustar más o menos pero jamas te dejará indiferente, tanto su discografía como sus actuaciones en vivo son literalmente otra cosa, otra manera de llegar,  y es que un simple aleteo de sus párpados es fruto de hypes transversales a 5 generaciones distintas de público. 


Recientemente ha iniciado una especia de gira actuando en directo, además de sacar música nueva años después; era el momento de juntarnos y grabar este programa donde no encontrarás una antología al uso, ni manidas anécdotas, se adentra en un nivel de conversación randomizado por la borrachera que imprime en nuestras dicciones su música y su halo de súper músico.

Next up in the Fast Forward Audio Series, we present: Ryan James Ford

During the 1990’s while growing up in western Canada, Ryan James Ford was introduced to electronic music through the local rave and club scene. He began to discover, study, and collect the music he heard at these parties which consisted of a mix of Jungle, UK hardcore, Techno,House, IDM, and ambient.
Fast forward many years later to Berlin, where Ryan and his productions found a solid home on the legendary Clone records from Rotterdam and has other production’s on Anetha’s Mama Told Ya, Ida’s SÄVY, Marcel Dettmann’s MDR, Answer Code Request’s ACR, Dream Ticket, and his own label SHUT. PLUR is the new record label from Ryan James Ford. The inaugural release 'Ripping EP' begins a new path of club focused tracks from himself and other like-minded contemporaries. PLUR will act as a tool to discover new energy on modern dance floors.

Ryan’s sets and productions are rich with inspiration from his time spent living in Calgary where he had interests not only in electronic music but also in hip hop, post rock, reggae, jazz, experimental, and even some interest in metal. He began experimenting with production in the early 2000’s but it wasn’t until 2013, with a move to Berlin, that he started investigating his musical capabilities seriously.
Even though two decades have passed since Ryan’s introduction to electronic music, his love for early Warp, Metalheads, Metroplex, Novamute, Skam, Downwards, etc. can still be heard resoundingly clear in the strength and versatility of his productions and sets. The future will see Ford continue to play out and release on labels that share his like-minded affiliation and roots in the electronic music community.

Since 2012, Caldera has been creating a unique and personal blend of Techno and Bass music with a love for detail and a dedicated sounddesign that immerses listeners into imaginary worlds.

His experiments with drums and rhythms result in grooves that represent a new and fresh way of looking at dance music while exploring a deeper side of it and leaving bpm restrictions behind.

Caldera's creations have found a home on labels such as Berlin's Nummer Music, Chicago's Kimochi Sound and Bristol's Pressure Dome while his Loop LF moniker has previously been a mainstay on London based Well Steet Records.
