The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Boris. The iconic Berlin-based artist has long been a fixture in the local and international scene whether as a resident of Berghain or bringing his electrifying sets to countries all over the world. Deeply committed to the captivating magic that unfolds on the dance floor, this burning passion sparks a longing to shape, tease and playfully amplify the intensity of the dance floor action. With over two decades of experience as a producer for the likes of Ostgut Ton and Careless and as a DJ, he remains an unwavering, yet never predictable, mainstay.

Renowned for his extended, scorching techno closing sets, Boris is one of the most well-versed and dedicated protagonists in Berlin's vibrant queer electronic scene. However, to pigeonhole Boris only to Berlin would be doing him a disservice. In fact, his visits to legendary clubs like Paradise Garage and the Loft in New York City have left an indelible mark on his persona and DJ style.

New Brvtalism No. 452 - Boris

Cecilia Tosh is a Berlin-based artist, curator, and community builder. Her sound is defined by steady grooves and an atmospheric, playful depth, guiding listeners through layered, evolving journeys. Since 2022, she has been a resident DJ at Tresor Berlin.

Beyond performing, she develops interdisciplinary projects exploring the relationship between sound, space, and urban dynamics. Her past work includes Kotti Island Disc, a large-scale exhibition and concept album released on Tresor Records, and CURA Berlin, a cultural open-air venue. She is currently furthering her research in the Art in Context master’s program at UdK Berlin, focusing on public space and immersive sound concepts.

This mix captures her high-energy side—an approach she loves when letting go and having fun. Keeping the playlist spontaneous made the recording process even more enjoyable.

From Europe’s southern tip in the Gibraltar-facing port city of Algeciras comes ORBE, the Spanish techno enthusiast whose potent beats have hammered out a pedigree path both as DJ and producer. Prevailing winds carried Fernando Sanz first to Seville to study sound engineering, later to Madrid where the fertile scene allowed him to build a community of music-minded friends that have put that city squarely on the map. Under these conditions, his work (what he terms a means of ‘contacting the future, the avant-garde’) has developed into something much deeper and more sophisticated. His love of artists like Brian Eno and Boards of Canada, and roots in breakbeat and drum and bass have informed a style that’s allowed him to take up the mantle as one of Spain’s most interesting talents. Under his self-titled record label (est. 2014) come his signature killer tunes, and in his work with names like Eduardo de la Calle and labels like Token, Hivern Discs, Axis and Mote Evolver a pole position at the forefront of modern techno. Fresh off his set on the Bassiani floor (14th March) comes this next Bassiani mix. Tensile rhythms that lurch ahead with supernatural power, an involute web of intelligent sounds that attest to his skill as selector. Bassiani Podcast 254 is an hour-long mash up of elfin beats, a vibrating hymn to the sounds of tomorrow, Orbe at the top of his game.

Back in August 2024, in the final stretch of summer, Ancient Methods b2b UVB took us on a three-hour ride to the end of time and back. A post-industrial vortex pulled us in, where deep mechanical grooves met tight rhythmic control in a set that was both punishing and hypnotic. The pacing was expertly crafted, grinding tension, explosive peaks, and moments of eerie restraint, all delivered with a raw, analog-driven energy that kept the floor locked in. Twisted Technology envisions a dystopian future where machines rise against their makers, turning cold logic into chaos. The EP unfolds like a transmission from a collapsing world-mechanical, hypnotic, and unrelenting.

Behind this sonic uprising is Burner, an up-and-coming artist from Melbourne, Australia, whose signature style fuses hypnotic rhythms, dark sequences, deep grooves, trippy FX, and hard-hitting low ends. With a passion for complex patterns in both production and mixing, Burner crafts each track with precision and intensity, shaping a sound that's both cerebral and physical.

The narrative begins with Siren, a warning call echoing through desolate cityscapes. Cyber Attack follows with unrelenting force, as networks collapse and machines take control. The title track, Twisted Technology, stands at the center-an anthem for a new, hostile era. In Time offers a brief, haunting pause, where the line between memory and machine begins to blur. Finally, Sonar Surges dives into deep, submerged frequencies-the last signal from a world overtaken by its own creations.
