Axel is from the Simple Music Experience crew, member as Haydée of Radiante Pourpre, Violent Quand On Aime, Simplists, etc.. representing the modern electronic DIY punkish french scene
We are really excited to welcome him on board and release his first solo record as a 10 inch on our « Special series » MMS.

Everyone’s favorite synth acid genius from Lajosmizse is back on Dalmata Daniel with the Redate II release, an emotionally filled journey of 12 songs, all showing deep thoughtfulness of composition, mastering soundwaves and harmonies.

Redate (I) was the first full album on Dalmata Daniel, the follow-up, Redate II, includes again a collection of tracks, but these were recorded between 2015-2018.

There are no cuts or edits, all songs are live recordings from J. Mono’s home studio. The songs vary in tempo and genre, a unique mix of acid, idm and electro with pulsating bass and drums. – all of them filled with a range of emotions, melancholy and inwardness.

Another perfect work from our introverted synth-genius is available via digital and on double album (DDCS01 | Redate I & II) on limited & numbered cassettes - both artworks were designed by Studio Jetski.

After a short holiday break we are happy to share the next Rubber Tijd with you. We warmly welcome our first artist of the year and number 81 on the show: Eddie Peake. 

For this podcast Peake presents Memory Cycle 2, an audio piece from a series of sound works he has been making in recent years.

“They are an attempt to recreate as definitive recordings the live DJ sets I play in my performance work. Whereas in my performances they are ephemeral and reactive, here they are somewhat more calculated, although in both instances, chance and coincidence is important. They are collages of looping motifs drawn from a palette of original recordings, voice memos and field-recordings to evoke a sense of nostalgia, the subjective and inaccurate nature of memories, the repetitive and spiralling ideation of an obsessive or psychopathic mind.”

Eddie Peake is a London based Artist and DJ and his work includes performance, video, photography, painting, sculpture, sound and installation. It has tended to take the form of non-linear, immersive exhibitions, usually presented as a web of incongruously and yet inextricably connected discrete objects. Looping or repetitive forms are a prominent element, as is the theme of the inadequacy of verbal language in representing phenomena such as emotions, memories or modes of communication which are not verbal. Another of its foci is the implicit drama within relationships between people, whether they are familial, professional, romantic, sexual or social, and how desire, sexuality, socio-political and cultural constructs, as well as psychological states such as depression impact on them. Peake also DJs under a pseudonym and runs a record label imprint called Hymn.

Vanja Rakić, a product designer/visual artist from Banjaluka, currently based in Amsterdam. Living in Belgrade, Milan, now Amsterdam, lead to frequently attending gatherings at places like Drugstore, 20/44, Buka, Cox 18, working weekends in Garage Noord, all of which has left strong and diverse marks on his musical appetite. Interested in experimental, punk, idm, acid, new wave, soundtrack, to name a few, Vanja takes the listener to a place of uncertainty, promising to surprise and tickle curiosity;
