Bero is one of the pioneer DJs from Tbilisi Scene. His Journey started in the early 2000's when clubbing was a still an emerging thing in Georgia. He has been active not only as a DJ but as a crucial part of the electronic scene, by being involved in various local festivals as a promoter, helping to shape and define the nature of the vibrant community that we see now. He has participated in the establishment of a DJ school as well as a Record Shop.

Bero has been actively supporting and nurturing Dance Culture in Tbilisi for about 20 years already. In 2012 he has opened doors of brand new Mtkvarze Nightclub for Tbilisi partygoers. Mtkvarze was shortly established as a flagship for Tbilisi Electronic Music Scene and was the first step forward for city's rapid growth as one of the Dancing Centers of Europe. Bero is truly a versatile DJ, his music varies from Minimal Tech to Electro. People on the dancefloor and their attitude towards his music are essentially a source of inspiration to him and it really is that simple - he plays what he sees.

This week’s International Tribe mix is the second edition in the two part series from Bassiani. 

Bassiani is the nightclub, label and music haven based in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi. Located underneath the Dinamo Football Arena, the club takes its surrounding from a disused swimming pool and In just a few years, Bassiani has become a catalyst for progressive politics in a conservative society, with its forwarding thinking creative and musical space.

For the second part of the series Kvanchi steps up to represent the sounds of Bassiani’s LGBTQ night Horoom. The night, celebrates LBGTQ rights in a country which is typically conservative and “was also founded as an “intentional political statement” in response to the pervading climate of homophobia in Georgia”.

With a sister label to Bassiani Records, the Horoom imprint has had releases from the likes of Francis Harris, Hamatsuki, Marquis Hawkes and a forthcoming release from Gacha Bakradze. Kvanchi steps up with a killer selection of club cuts and forthcoming material.
