This is a track is a combination of Iranian folk music with electronic music, in the Lofi genre. I tried to use my pallet in electronic music and chain it to my roots, and produce something unique, yet familiar to western audiences' ears. A soul Floating aimlessly is the story behind this track, which I inspired from my own immigration experience.

“We are YUNG”

YUNG is celebrating the release of their very recent collaboration with Mahtab Djourabchi on the turn of the season, ‘Persona’. It is recorded during the quarantines, in the summer of 2021. 
YUNG is a trio live-act music project from Iran (since 2014), together they enfuse a wide combinations of styles, ranging from experimental music, to Synth-pop, and Downtempo music. They frequently collaborate with other musicians and like-minded artists as their guests in the line-up. 

For this single-song, Mahtab Djourabchi is the artist who has contributed with her vocals to their composition. The ever-the-same artist line-up for the band includes ‘MaQan’, ‘JVN’ and ‘Tarik’, they work together to improvise, compose, track, arrange and mix their own sounds. Mahtab Djourabchi (b. 1991 ) is a singer, songwriter and lyricist from Tehran. Having a background in stage performances (theater), she also enjoys her talent in writing and singing lyrics. 

MaQan employs electronic music instruments and laptop for live performances, Mohamad Tariki is a drummer, electronic-music performer and a player of exceptional eastern percussive instrument, JVN [Javan] is a composer and player of numerous instruments who usually also helps with the arrangement process. Mahtab has recently started to sing and record portions of her lyrics that she has started to write since she was a teenager - in which “Persona’ would be the first in the set.

This piece was recorded during the summer of 2021 in Tehran, post-production process is done at the ‘Studio A Tehran’ and is now released through YUNG Productions - an independent label dedicated to the releases by YUNG- on Bandcamp and later on on other online music distribution companies like Spotify, iTunes.
