The wintertime is back in germany and christmas is very close. This time reminds us to be with family and friends as well as it stands for giving each other more attention and love. Thank you @mira_kater for bringing everyone together again, and reminding us how important and valuable our time together is. 

I'm grateful for everyone's trust during the 6-hour journey we shared in Acid Bogen on Monday morning. Right from the beginning, you could already sense the incredible and lovable energy.  What a great way to celebrate love, friendship music and ultimately being alive.

Putting together this set has been challenging, as I try my best each time to give myself and the listener a journey in various soundscape that inspire me & teach me new life lessons in my day to day life. I hope these next few tracks bring you happiness in your day wherever you may be and that this music enable you to reflect on something you didn’t have time to think about or process lately. One of the tracks in this mix is called 'Beach Bummer'. This song is made by my friend Gab Rhome, his music always fills my heart with joy and make me feel alive. You can feel the goodness and genuity in his sounds. So I thought I would put it in this mix and transfer that energy across the globe. Wow, this was one for the books… 
I am speechless, and not just because I've lost my voice again :D I’m pretty dead but so grateful for what happened last Sunday, Monday, Tuesday at Kater...
This is definitely my winter highlight every year and you all made it so special. 
Thank you to my beloved Kater family for giving me a cozy home, for believing in my music choices and for trusting me when I try to push the party longer… 
Thank you to my lovely friends who in some cases were not afraid to fly more than 12 hours to join me for my fiesta.
Thank you to all my crazy talented musician friends for being a part of it and for giving their very very best…I think everyone was a little shaky and nervous before their set because of YOU - the best crowd in the whole world! 
And because he is a f***ing legend - Sven Dohse! You rock! 
Ten hours of your special groove… pfff, I’m so glad I made it until the very end, I just couldn’t get enough <3

Just Emma @ The Fluffy Cloud - Burning Man 2019

Explorations 22 is brought to you by super fresh talent Mia Kober.

Mia Caught LO-FIs Attention with her warm debonair and kind nature, and after hearing her play a polished set at WALL TO WALL we were astounded to hear she has only been spinning for 9 months.

Mia's introduction to music was by her parents, being taken to festivals at an early age and being spoonfed Jazz, folk and more these influences brewed inside her mind.
Discovering the track Muse by Nicolas Jaar was the lightbulb moment and the first steps to electronic music enlightenment were taken.
Her quest took her to Europe where the chill stages of festivals was her education.

Mia has drawn inspiration from the likes off  Nicolaas Jaar, Clever Austin, Lui Mufata, Nils Frahm, Nikosh, Gary Clark Jr, Four Tet, Gidge, Lee Jones, Stimming, Arutani, Billy Caso,  Satori, Lemonella, flowers on monday, Groove Armada, Landhouse, Gaudi, Bado, Jean du Voyage... and from this her sound carries a warm emotion, with hints of melancholy.

Embedding herself in the Auckland underground scene it is her enthusiasm to organise events and lend a hand to those that need it that make her a pleasure to be around and her ease at weaving a soundscape makes her one to watch.

In her short career she has already played stellar sets at kiwi Burn and splore... and is becoming a regular on Auckland lineups.

For this mix Mia has put together a deep emotive offering..In her own words...

I spent sometime trying to make the playlist and have the mix be certain way but nothing felt like it was flowing with ease, so i ended  totally surrendering what it would sound like and just played for fun and myself dancing and moving and having a good ol time and that’s the recording I ended up with. Unplanned and just an extension of what i was feeling when I created it.  I think its good to have an outline but when we create with restrictions over what we are feeling in the moment it is harder to enjoy the recording experience. So taking a breath and tuning in to what I’m feeling in the moment is the approach that works for me.

Since 2009 Ki build up a solid stem of international artists that grew along the way since the Label’s start. Ki Releases are diverse in sound and genre, but related in quality. It’s not Ki’s thing to stick to one direction.

Most of the Label's musicians are somewhat involved in many disciplines of art. From the smallest detail in production, to the whole package - each Release is a piece of art throughout. And because fine art looks best on a proper sized canvas of 12“, Ki releases it’s music primarily on Vinyl. To look at, feel, listen to and love.
