Codename: RCRDS commence a new trilogy of Various Artist releases with Distant Journeys EP, which once again sees the label bring together a selection of the finest talents in the Atmospheric DnB scene.

Continuing on from his stunning ‘Sun At Midnight EP’, Label regular NonRev opens the EP with the sublime roller ‘So Too Shall Pass’, full of atmospheric chants and driving rhythms.

Mineral contributes the sublime stepper ‘Abstract Motions’, with evocative pads and melodies combining with deep rumbling bass and his crisp clean production providing a stunning example of the Helsinki producers trademark sound.

The EP closes with a debut track from Pathfinder, which sees previous Codename: artists Missen and newcomer Tennant join forces for a beautiful dreamy vocal number which switches things into amen territory for its latter stages to close the EP on a stunning high.

From 'V Classic' to 'Planet V' and beyond, the V Recordings camp have been scene leaders in creating era-defining, zeitgeist-capturing compilations. And, following on from the retrospective 'Foundation' project, it's now time for another chapter in the story - 'Future'

Bryan Gee, widely known as one of the most influential selectors and A&R men in the business, has taken his time to compile and curate something that's more than just another album. This is Bryan's personal vision of what's to come, not only for the V brand, but for Drum & Bass music as a whole.
Never swayed by fashions, fads and sub-genre divisions, Bryan and Jumpin Jack Frost's family of labels have been a benchmark for quality from time immemorial. So, when they call this album 'Future', that comes with authority.

For V Recordings, the future is as much about building on what's come before as it is about brand new innovations. So, we see contemporary masters like Benny L, Voltage and L-Side pay homage to the classics with remixes of Roni Size, Ray Keith, Krust and Dillinja. Artificial Intelligence go back in on their anthem 'Uprising' to give it a cutting-edge reconfiguration, and Dr Meaker's 'Fighter' gets the S.P.Y treatment.

Then there are the 2020 visions of artists from across the spectrum of Drum & Bass music. The likes of Alibi, Paul T & Edward Oberon, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, DJ Marky & Dirtbag, Bladerunner, Zero T, Command Strange, Carlito & Addiction, Jonny L & Need for Mirrors deliver darkness and light, savagery and euphoria, musicality and hype in equal measure. And that's just scratching the surface.

The future that this album sets out before us is one where pigeon-holes and categories are unimportant. Certified legends rub shoulders with breakthrough artists. Heavyweight dancefloor bangers co-exist with soulfully melodic flavours. This music is unified, not by style or by marketability, but purely by the vibe. If that's what a V Recordings future looks like, we can relax. The scene is in safe hands.

As a pioneer of bass driven music in South East Asia, Kiat has been championing the adventurous side of leftfield electronica for close to two decades. He has shared deck duties with some of the world's biggest names such as Goldie, Flying Lotus and Africa Hitech in both intimate clubs and huge festivals like the Singapore Night Festival and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in Sete, France.

 His production work landed him the honour of being the first Singaporean to be signed to respected UK label Metalheadz, with his debut release Feeder ending up on Goldie’s entry to the Ministry of Sound Masterpiece series. Other productions have aired on BBC Radio 1, BBC 1XTRA and on Singapore radio. In 2012, Kiat released his debut album The Inner Galaxy, "a cosmic voyage of sorts, traversing a spacious alien landscape of experimental electronica" (Midnight Shift). This journey through the leftfield blends hip hop, dub and soulful electronica with international collaborators from New Zealand to Iceland.

2013 saw Kiat participate in ‘Creative Destruction’ - a multi-faceted campaign by the Peranakan Museum in conjunction with an installation titled Luminous Depths by Lee Mingwei. Besides producing an exclusive track with samples from the work by the international artist, the campaign saw his first live drum n’ bass performance, in collaboration with Cherry Chan on the visuals.

A year later, Kiat worked with Marie Schuller - the Contributing Head of Fashion Film at leading progressive fashion site SHOWStudio  - to score several fashion films, most prominently the Anthony Vaccarello x Versus Versace film that premiered at New York Fashion Week, and featured on Dazed Digital. This collaboration bore two more films - one showcasing the AW14 collection for the award-winning Turkish designer Dice Kayek titled Blue, and another for the Asian Couture Week 2013 on SHOWStudio.

He currrent release  is his 2nd album entitled 'Ataraxia' on the Syndicate label.
