Fresh remixes of Blamma! Blamma!'s slo-mo, disco track 'Zsa Zsa'.
 
First up is Andy Cato who keeps the slow vibes of the original, whilst adding a slight balearic touch with the drums. The track builds nicely with a crescendo provided by an uplifting piano and electronic synths.
 
In form duo, Psychemagik serve up a funk-laden remix oozing real class. Morphed guitars and synths drive the track, providing a futuristic tone.
 
Kiani & Red D (from FCL fame) inject a little more pace into the track, with elements of vintage electro infecting this house remix. The echoed vocals in parts add a chilling edge, with Kristina Train's voice sitting nicely over the top of the catchy bassline.
 
Completing the package is much talked about Dutch producer, Eelke Kleijn. His remix has real soul and depth to it, with the deep rolling synths going hand-in-hand with the morphed vocals. Darkened breakdowns with undulating high synths add a real 'German' flair to the track.

Shir Khan and the illusive Exploited crew reveal the first compilation of the cultishly adored Black Jukebox series. It includes the sunniest grooves you’ve heard this year. ’Shir Khan Presents Black Jukebox Disco Jam 01’ is a soundsystem-ready disco-house jam which tickles the subwoofers beautifully and seems purpose built for eyes-wide-shut Summer terrace play in big outdoor spaces. The return of time travelling disco afficionados Space Echo is immanent, and their 3rd contribution to the Luv Shack catalogue is a very special one indeed. The three tracks on the 'Rare Function EP' are boasting with dusty 70s blues magic!

The first track 'Go Down' is somewhat more akin to earlier Space Echo tracks, with a disco loop that steadily builds in the background, funky house drumming and a big beefy bassline. However the gospel vocals and the evolving synth strings in the second break take ' Go Down' to another level of dancefloor goodness.

'Rare Function' sees Space Echo take a moody excursion into southern funk. With an insanely addictive rhodes hook, shimmering strings and a soothing vocal line that hits right in the guts, this piece is well suited to liven up any house set.

The final track is called 'Rainbow Power' and its probably the most uncanny Space Echo track to date. Its a full on party rendition of a lesser known early 70s funk piece that just blasts off after being introduced to a fat acid line!

The EP is a testament to the musical development of the Space Echo project and we're excited to hear what the future holds.

Om Records founder Christopher Smith returns under his Shiny Objects moniker with Superstitious Hips, a heavy brooding new single on Smoke N’ Mirrors. Kicking things off is the original version of the title track. There’s a darkness that builds into a down and dirty body-shaking affair with heavy drums. Up next is the Birds Fly South (Maxxi Soundsystem & Holmar from Thugfucker) who takes the track into deeper house territory. Following that is the final cut Twisted Up, a funky booty bouncing house track with tons of old school vibes to round out the single.
