Welcome on board, here's the 55th episode of the Stellar Series.

Rig Thrall is one of those artists with strong character and style, plus an eclectic and varied selection combined to solid influences. A racy techno style combining planar and tribal music but also progressive trance, breaks and marked tones from the 80s-90s.

He co-created various projects during his young life in this industry, such as @rakya-records (label & collective) in Paris or OQULT collective in Montreal (facebook.com/oqultmtl) for the most recent.

Also producer, he released two EPs, including one on his own label, and several collaborations on movie or advertising soundtracks. He is currently working on new projects which should see the daylight soon. Case to follow.

Stellar Series Episode 55 - Rig Thrall (Lost In The Movie)

After passing through the sights of the clouds of galactic dust, the patrol cruiser brought the brave, hard-to-get-out-of-trouble friends to the Andromeda Nebula. An astrophysical textbook with the basics of meta-cognitive therapy is of a great help in planning new searches in the depths of the celestial web, reboot and dream circulation.

Cat performs a ritual of debugging vibration fields with the help of immersive mantras. Their light, airy reflections have long been used to eliminate nonverbal attacks on consciousness. The multidimensional immersion in the cradle of sound sensorics becomes tangible.

The 13th Slope Point release by DJ and producer Kid Kimi. Born in Serbia, Kid Kimi has extensive experience as a DJ thanks to his residencies at the Belgrade venues The Tube and Disco Bar Mladost. For the occasion, Kid Kimi has made 4 tracks that will shape ‘Dub Channel’, the EP with which he makes his debut as a music producer. The work, which has been mastered by the Canadian Pheek, will see the light next Friday April 30 on the official bandcamp of the label.

When we first heard the tracks that are now part of this EP we were convinced an Italian producer from the 90’s had just dusted off a pack of DATS from his archives. Little we knew that Derral was a young, fresh and very talented gentleman from the outskirts of Barcelona. The 4 tracks on this OCD release are reminiscent of what it could be heard in Italy’s Riviera Adriatica legendary clubs in the early 90’s or on labels like UMM, MBG, or Heartbeat and the whole EP is a sneak peak into the promising future Derral has ahead of him.

@segueambient is the name used by Jordan Sauer, an electronic music producer from Vancouver, BC. He creates ambient and dub-techno music with layers of field recordings, acoustic and electronic sounds, creating sonic soundscapes that conjure images of nature and emotions of peace and introspection. He has released numerous solo albums and collaborations with artists from around the world, including three LPs on the Silent Season record label. A high point of his career was the 2013 release of the dub-techno album Pacifica and the following performance at Mutek the following year, captured here in this live recording. In 2020, Jordan was commissioned by Canada’s Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre to produce Gene Machines - an album based on field recordings and atmospheric sounds from one of the most advanced genetic research labs in Canada.

Presented as part of STREAM ON, a project by MUTEK, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Next up on Anthea’s Partisan imprint is Rube Goldberg Series founder, Bowyer, “Something From The Chiffonier” EP keeps the momentum flowing for the label after a stellar outing from LVCA.  Bowyer delivers four cuts that are dynamic and innovative from start to finish.

“Something From The Chiffonier” boots things off in true Partisan fashion, peak time dance floor bliss reminiscent of the key moments we are all longing for right now. “Turbo Grill”heads along a curious tip, with mysterious beeps and bleeps that twist and turn, all the while delivering a playful melody and groove. Both jams boast smooth organ arrangements complementing the pop elements and rendering them modern house triumphs.

Riding the wave of a chugging sub heavy bass is the B1, “Badgers Crossing”, clean broken drums and rippling acid tinges as the track develops into a frenzy. Closing proceedings is “Global Positioning System” letting up slightly with floating synths that sweep you away like a dream.

The young and talented producer continues to shine in recent times with a steady output of high quality productions, simultaneously the Partisan family continues to grow and this EP from Bowyer is sure to be welcomed with open arms.
