Self-Reflection

Beantown

Kick-Knowledge born (Michael Porter) raised in Wareham Massachusetts. His story is long and deep. The lyrics in his songs tell the many tales and lessons learned along the way. The music in this album cover alot of my personal experiences and character. I have seen alot in my 35 years on this planet and I want to express my reality to the world and tell my story a bit.

Making music is therapeutic for me and I never feel better than when creating a song that touches others. I've found that most of the songs I love the most are the ones that I can relate to. Whether it's a sad song I relate to which helps me through a hard time to a song that jogs my memory back to a specific time and place that brings me joy. These are the types of songs I aim to make. Real songs talking about real topics many of which we all have experienced.

My past has many chapters good and bad. My personality is deep and there are many different facets to it. My interests are many and stories long and detailed. The name "Kick-Knowledge" comes from my mission to share wisdom I've acquired along my journey. Many lessons learned the hard way. And if I can share that wisdom with someone and save them from making the same mistakes, then my wounds have turned into blessings. And that is a beautiful thing. 

The album is very authentic and the lyrics are all truthful. Nothing exaggerated or made up. I felt like I had to go back in time in my mind. Open old wounds and dig deep within myself to express emotions and experiences that shaped me into who I am today. There were things I had to change in my life. Things I had to let go of. And things I had to hold onto tightly. That's why I titled the album, "Self Reflection". Because that's all this album is. It's a product of my self reflection. And I think others will identify with a lot of it as well.

I appreciate everyone who takes a listen and supports my music. I hope my music touches your soul.
