Once again, we meet on the warm sunny beaches of Miami for another spring, another round and another set. This year’s compilation comes at the hand of one of Get Physicals’ latest inductees, American up-and-comer, m.O.N.R.O.E., who delivers a great set of hot and bouncy tech-house tracks. The journey starts with Daniel Dubbs ‘Steel Trap’, who effortlessly takes the lead and clears a sonic path with rhythm of steamy pressure while twisted steel drums flutter. Paul C & Paolo Martini & Anek continue in a similar vibe, albeit deeper, before Penwood changes it up a bit with a taste of dub-infused afterhour bliss. Next is the chart-topping Emanuel Satie edit of ‘I Get Deep feat. Roland Clark (Late Nite Tuff Guy Remix)’, this one speaks for itself, if you haven’t heard it yet – get ready. Next, Smash TV make a welcome appearance with a tight house number, ‘Daddy’, and carry the torch further to Ali O'sullivan - At Right. This one is another big blend of techno and house that is almost more tech than house with its massive kick and wonderfully aggressive percussion. Finley calms the scene right about now with a chilly Experimental-esque track that finds its roots in a smooth, jazzy chord construct. ZOHKI feat. DE VANNA present a bubbly house track that plays in a similar space as the one before, with ZOO BRAZIL changing the mood up in ‘Trum’. ‘Flashback’ takes us on another unexpected ride with some very particular and engaging atmosphere and organic feel. Lastly, You Shtak give us one last shot of bass and adrenaline before the lights come up. A gritty, heavy track that turns and rolls on the floor, taking everything along with it as it slowly blooms to reveal stirring strings and a heightened atmosphere.

As Warriors celebrates its fifth season at Sankeys Ibiza, residents Mark Jenkyns and Leftwing & Kody mix a double album composed of entirely exclusive tracks.

Returning to Sundays at the Playa D’en Bossa club, the party series recently announced their summer lineups spanning the likes of Groove Armada, Hot Since 82, Eats Everything, Skream, Huxley and VIVa founder Steve Lawler. Throughout the 2016 season residents Mark Jenkyns and Leftwing & Kody will be regular fixtures at the events, which is why VIVa have tapped them up to craft two mixes exemplary of Warriors’ distinct musical aesthetic.

Turning heads ever since his debut on Hot Creations four years ago, Mark Jenkyns has since followed up with appearances on Rinse, Dogmatik, Leftroom, Resonance and Crosstown Rebels, not to mention collaborating with Inxec as 12 Stories with a release on VIVa MUSiC last year. Meanwhile, Leftwing & Kody have been making waves since emerging in 2012, releasing on the likes of Knee Deep In Sound, Hot Creations and MadTech when not pioneering their own Lost Records imprint.

Jenkyns’ mix initiates with a percussive production from Leftroom founder Matt Tolfrey before erupting into lively material from names such as Resonance Records founder Max Chapman, Kreature and Tom Budden until a crunchy cut from Josh Butler concludes proceedings. Meanwhile, Leftwing & Kody’s tracklist sees the likes of Jey Kurmis, Solid Grooves founder Michael Bibi, Hauswerks & Anek, Cera Alba and ONNO, not to mention fast-rising newcomers Solardo.

Late July will see the release of Truth Be Told’s ‘Brass Minkey’ EP on MadTech, comprising three originals and remixes from Acid Sky’s and MANT.

Liverpudlian duo Truth Be Told have been picking up support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Darius Syrossian, Josh Butler and Bontan over the past years via EP’s, singles and remixes for the likes of Hector Couto’s Roush, AVOTRE, ElRow Music and Resonance Records. Here though see the pair joining the roster of the esteemed MadTech Records imprint, a driving force in the world of contemporary house music, with a new EP.

Across the ‘Brass Minkey’ EP Truth Be Told deliver a powerful modern house style, title cut ‘Brass Minkey’ lays the foundations with a frenzied percussive rolls, stuttering vocals and a wandering sub bass hook before ‘Dib Dab’ follows with shuffling snares, bulbous bass swells and mind-bending atmospherics. Last up on the originals is ‘True Colours’, laying down a groove-led approach with crunchy percussion, processed vocal murmurs and choppy synth blips meandering throughout the
record.

Rounding out the EP are two remixes, the first of which comes from Leeds duo Acid Skys who take on ‘Brass Minkey’ to create a chugging bass-led workout before London duo MANT round things out, creating a dark and brooding interpretation of Dib Dab with expansive reverb swells, soft pad sweeps and a robust rhythmic drive.

Truth Be Told’s ‘Brass Minkey’ EP is out on MadTech Records 22nd July (Beatport) and 5th August
(General) 2016.

Madrid based DJ and producer Dennis Cruz delivers two dance floor focussed house cuts on Solid Grooves this October.

A mainstay in the house and techno community, Dennis Cruz has consistently delivered high quality material on Stereo Productions, Snatch! and Suara to name but a few, garnering support from the likes of Marco Carola, Jamie Jones and Nic Fanciulli. This reputation has earned him a number of awards, including winning Best Producer in this year's DJ Awards, not to mention nominations for Best Spanish Artist, Best Producer and Best DJ from Vicious in 2016. Dennis Cruz' success in the industry continues this October with a busy touring schedule, featuring multiple performances at this year's ADE, as well as his return to Solid Grooves Records with 'Rock & Roll EP'.

'Rock & Roll' opens the release with a rumbling low end and grooved drum loops, allowing exciting snare rolls to build towards an inspiring vocal and hypnotic mid-range motifs before 'Get Ready' uses a vocal with more musicality which interacts the melodic bass hook, rising synth rhythms and shimmering hi hats to close out the release smoothly.

For the next release on the unrelenting and genre pushing Hot Creations imprint, musical masterminds Skream and Tom Demac join forces for the first time to deliver the electro bomb EMF. Label head Jamie Jones offers yet another standout rework to add to his ever-expanding catalogue.

Breakbeat rhythms and a pounding bass kick off proceedings as the track unfurls with dramatic synths that culminate in an epic build up, dropping into the intricate electro melody. Jamie provides a mammoth rework as he steers the original into the realm of house. Holding onto the core elements, he adds his signature stamp with an unmistakable bassline.

As one of the UK’s best-loved selectors Skream’s early origins can be found in dubstep before he made a transition into disco, house and techno. In November 2013 he unveiled his new label, Of Unsound Mind and has been signed to a variety of labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Objectivity and We Are The Brave. He’s also produced a constant flow of remixes for labels like Warner, FFRR, Sony, Hot Creations, Watergate and VIVa. Parallel to these pivotal releases he also showcased his eclectic tastes at his Skreamizm parties across the UK and the rest of the world.

North Wales native Tom Demac first came to attention via his own Electronique Audio imprint in 2004 but it’s his affiliation with Hypercolour that really kick started his ascension to being a global force within the house and techno scene. His passion for performing live has seen him play from DC10 to Freerotation. He’s also released on a number of labels including a collaboration with Duncan Jones of Silverclub and an EP on Kompakt with Real Lies.
