I’ve been working on these instrumentals since 2018, which feels like some part of the Spider-Verse at this point. There’s a running list of influences that inspired the sounds on this record, but ultimately it was my repeated listenings to The Cure’s Disintegration and New Order’s Technique that inspired me most. 

Both albums came out during my birth year and even though I wish I could say “I’ve been a fan since day 1,” I cannot and really shouldn’t. These two albums inspired me so much because of both band’s bass players (did I mention I’m a bass player), the rhythm sections, and the mood the music creates in and around you.

So Lush Instrumentals ended up being a combination of those two iconic albums plus my new found love of house music and electronic composition. I hope you can hear all of those vibes and more in each track. 

My album wouldn’t sound the way it sounds without the help of Kevin Carafa, who mixed and mastered the album.

My name is Cameron Clowers and I go by the artist name KIDCLOW. I’m a bass player who loves the 80s and more generally, moody ass music. Synths, drum machines, a driving tempo, that’s the hard stuff. The stuff that makes you wanna dance inside out and high five the air. 

After playing in a post rock band for years, I decided to give song writing a shot. Long overdue decision, but ultimately rewarding, like chicken noodle soup for the hole. Jump to now and I’m still continuing that journey of discovering my musical voice, but what I do know is that I try to write music that puts you in a trance and surrounds you with the lushness of it’s layers. A full bodied onion of sounds. Or even the sound of a landslide. Who can say. What can be said is that the tracks build similarly to pop and electronic arrangements.
