Next up we have Brooklyn born and raised out of Bensonhurst/Coney Island, Jay Maniakal…

We’ve been trying to get this guy on here for quite some time now, but if you know anything about him, then you know he’s busy as fuck but we’ll get into that a little bit later on. 

Jay is part of the original supreme team, kids that were just hanging out together unknowingly creating history in this techno world of ours. As you can see, there’s a MASSIVE pattern here on TNC of people from NYC and even our New Jersey DJs are all influenced by New York, and for good reason. Until this day, New York knows how to fucking party… so let’s get back to Jay.

Jay Maniakal started DJing and promoting Raves in the 1990s in the local underground outlaw Hardcore Techno scene. He grew and learned with his friends who eventually ended up becoming his influences. 
As time went by he hosted and promoted countless outlaw events with Nikki Fingers of D.O.A., Industrial Strength Records and many other pioneer DJs and Promoters from the scene. This led him In 1997 to have a residency spot for a summer in the Palladium’s Engine Room, scored a couple of gigs in The Chapel of The Limelight and spun several events at The Tunnel, CBGB’s, Coney Island High, The Wetlands, Octagon, The Bank, One Love @ The Batcave, Planet 28, and the MECHA parties with Simon Underground of the Ludlow. Things were sweet but then…

In 2002, Jay was convicted in a 14 count federal indictment due to the investigation of the Limelight Nightclub. 

He came home from prison and started piecing his life back together bit by bit. 2007 he decided to start his career in tattooing, a mental life saver of sorts along with music, that he continued to produce, but not with Techno, he got into Hip-Hop and Rapping, and he then opened his own Tattoo studio with some partners in Brownsville Brooklyn called TF Body Art where he turned half the Tattoo studio into a full scale recording studio. 

Staying in and doing his thing, In 2019 he went out to his first Rave since his incarceration in 2002 and was instantly reunited with his homegrown friends from the streets of Brooklyn, who were still involved in the Rave scene… Frankie Bones, JR Mac. John Discala, Alan Sax, Dever. A year later Covid came, and Sess1ons was born. By the end of 2022 he was fully assimilated into Techno again never touching a digital mixer or CDJ’s.
“Vinyl was all I knew until I was taught by Jenny Lee how to go digital in about 10 minutes and I haven’t stopped since then.” 

Jay still currently tattoos and operates a shop located in Williamsburg Brooklyn and him and his team operate  RTDFRAVERADIO.COM, literally the only fucking place on the planet probably were you could hear real underground Techno and DJs

Acme- how would you describe your sound? 
Jay Maniakal- My style varies from really hard techno to really really hard techno and Hardcore lol
