Obstacles: A Spoken Word Poem About Life: The Song

I've had Black & Yellow stuck in my head forever, and I've been silently mashing it up with all my favorite songs in my head.

Considering how literally Black and Yellow the majority of Persona 4 is (one of my favorite PS2 games of ALL TIME) I thought it fit. The BPMs being exactly the same was just a bonus.

If I can find the real acapella for this I can make this sound better lal. Enjoy the proof of concept!

Inspired at 2am. Recorded at 6pm. Oh God my voice oh God.

This is the final version of my cover of Assemblage 23's Apart. I performed this LIVE at 8static in Philly, May 10th 2014. And the vocals were just as bad, if not worse.

Instrumentally though, I think this shit is tight. I've been way inspired to make much much more. And apparently my bass murdered the dancefloor.

I'll probably upload an instrumental version because I cannot stand the sound of my voice.

But hey, echo makes everything better.

Overworld Ocean Love Story v2

This song was heavily inspired by "Eternal" by Dj Dee.M
You might know it as "MegaMan Rave Song by DJ Skribble" as it was found on eMule and other P2P networks at the time. The song's special sound and unique lore intrigued and inspired me once I rediscovered it.

This is my 2nd complete LSDJ track. My first original though it borrows melodic elements from Eternal.

After many hours of playing Pro Keyboard on Rock Band 3, I was inspired to create this song. Specifically after playing the keyboard part in Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before by The Smiths.
I had no idea such wonderful tones existed, yet only so briefly! So I wanted to create an entire song based around the my one favorite part of the song.I stayed up all night putting this together, and tweaked things until they sounded just about right the next morning.
Somehow, I still think there's something missing.Thoughts? Ideas? Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Remixed Before

This track has been a LONG time in the making, and I'm finally finally finally ready to release it. I originally wrote this track to submit to the Chiptunes = WIN compilation Volume 3 but I sadly did not make the cut. The good news is, now you can all enjoy it! Right now! I even included the fun little blurb that was going to go with it below.

It's difficult to tread that line between boring and overwhelming. Not enough and way too much. With RNG, I tried to tread that line as carefully as I could.

At heart, this is a dance track. It's faster than most EDM, but slower than Hardcore stuff. It's upbeat, but there's some definite edge to it. It's loud, and it's there to make its presence known.

My music, generally speaking, is heavily influenced by Happy Hardcore and Futurepop/EBM/Darkwave stuff. There's a lot of layered synth progression that happens in futurepop, and this song in particular was strongly influenced by the work of Mind.In.A.Box: one of my favorite artists of all time.

My friends introduced me to Mr Kitty not too long ago. It started with this track, Unstable. I fell in love with it. I became obsessed. And so, I sought to make a chiptune cover of it.

I hope the effort shows. I hate my singing voice. I tried to make it sound as appealing as possible. It pales in comparison to the original track but I really did my best.

What the fresh hell is this? Well this started out as a thing a very long time ago and gathered dust for like a year. I unearthed it and it went through a transformation. I attempted to craft this into a track that would be dancefloor-friendly. Did I succeed? I dunno. Sounds okay to me lol

This track is special though, and it was mastered by my local friend Patrick Kays, and I want to give him a personal shout out, since I've been making him bust his ass for me lmao. Play this on a bangin speaker system that pumps out thick bass. Trust me it rules.

This was fun. This was difficult. This took a lot of time but the payoff was so, so worth it.

I took on unique challenges with this track and decided I needed two instances of LSDJ to produce the instrumentals and drums. So I took two recordings off of my one GameBoy and combined them in post. A bit rough around the edges, but I think it works.

So much hype and energy went into this though oh my god. I hope you enjoy it. I've had overwhelmingly positive feedback on this already, and this is easily my biggest project to date.
