Cities and Memory is a global field recording & sound art work that presents both the present reality of a place, but also its imagined, alternative counterpart – remixing the world, one sound at at time.

Cities and Memory: Oblique Strategies sees more than 60 artists all over the world reinterpret and reimagine field recordings, using Eno and Schmidt’s Oblique Strategies cards as creative inspiration for their reworking of the original source sound.

Each artist selected a source field recording to reimagine, and was then allocated two Oblique Strategy cards, which they used to guide, inform and inspire their reimagined version of the recording.

Thus, the project builds a whole world of new sounds, created and divined by chance and oblique inspiration.

This album is a selection of highlights from the project that work particularly well together as an album and a listening experience in their own right.

Kid Kin is the moniker of producer Peter Lloyd from Oxford, England. In 2020 he collaborated with The Bobo to release the single "Sprinter (At Last)" which made the BBC Introducing Hot List. On 29th April 2021 they followed it up with their new single "Control".

Kid Kin's latest single - Under A Cloud Of Fret - released on in May 2021, followed by the Discompose EP in June 2021.

Kid Kin has toured the UK and supported luminaries such as Ulrich Schnauss, Public Service Broadcasting, and Haiku Salut.
