JUICE! One, Two

What's good family! This is a collection of beats and remixes that I've done over the past 30-45 days. While I don't rap at all, the title, "Stick To Rap", is a reminder to myself that people won't always get your vision and will try to steer you off your path. But F*ck that.

Stick To Rap Vol. 1

What's good fams! Appreciate you being here! I've been working in music professionally for the past 10 years, however, when trying to figure out why I had so little music of my own in the world from the past decade, I realized that I was still largely operating in fear. It was easy to ignore that though because I'm also a service provider for others. I engineer and produce for other artists and that side of my career has seen growth. But now that I've identified this demon, I refuse to allow myself to stay the same. So I came up with the Tajin Tapes beat series. I'm releasing a beat tape every week. This is to accomplish a few things. First, this level of output will make me more skilled. I just upgraded to the Ableton Push 3 and I want to be one of the greatest users in the world of that machine. I have to get my 10,000 hours in. Second, I feel that releasing art is also a skill that needs to be built to be good at it. Being scheduled to have at least 50 releases this year ought to help me get good at the process. I've made lots of music over the years, but from simple posts on social media to full all DSP releases, I always find that there is some sort of resistance that derails the sharing process and I need to overcome that. I also desensitize myself a bit to being vulnerable to public scrutiny of things that are important to me. And finally, maintaining this release schedule takes and incredible amount of hard work, focus, and consistency. No matter what happens with the music after its release, I'm 100% going to be a different person by doing this and I believe I'll be more capable of receiving and keeping all the blessings God has in store for me.
