Enemies

At the core of Kid Malavic’s ‘emo trap’ is an open mind -- a willingness to experiment in order to develop a sound that is uniquely his. Thematically, Kid Malavic touches on deeper subjects, everything from breakups to depression, anxiety to suicide, relationships to happiness and above all -- health. As someone who also struggles with many of these, Kid Malavic, through his music, hopes to offer perspective to those who share a similar suffering.

Growing up is rarely easy, nor should it be, but music had always been a faithful companion that allowed him a mode of self expression that nothing else could provide. It was a way for him to release pent up frustration in the healthiest way he knew how. Harnessing music’s capacity to help others is also at the very core of why Kid Malavic creates. To quote the man himself, “there is no better feeling in this world than knowing I was able to help somebody get through a tough time in their lives”.

Growing up in Las Vegas played a pivotal role in shaping the influences you hear in Kid Malavic’s music. With a strong local band scene and a thriving arts scene in general, he was exposed to pop punk bands like Green Day, Taking Back Sunday and Yellowcard from a very early age. The attitude and spirit of the early 00’s era of pop punk can be heard all over his material.

Kid Malavic is no stranger to making music, and has been chipping away at his craft for almost two decades. A significant highlight of his career includes playing the revered Warped Tour for 3 years in a row with his band Damnear Divine. 

Fast forward to today, and Kid Malavic has been busy in the studio, setting the wheels in motion for his debut album, and unveiling his brand of emo-trap to the world. For him, music goes far deeper than ‘organized sound’ -- it’s a means to connect, to heal, and to collectively evolve. Join Kid Malavic on a quest for self-awareness, as we figure this ‘life’ thing out together.
