“Hunting Song” proves again that Streamer (Gary Shepherd and guests) is neither context nor culture bound. This time Streamer has joined up with the vocal talents of Nohon, a traditional singer from the Altai Mountains, Siberia.
Nohon sings traditional songs, composes his own music and is the master of “kai”, a specific style of Siberian throat singing. While Nohon was performing in Europe he was teamed up with Streamer in Amsterdam by Window to Europe, organisation specialised in bringing artists from Russia/ Central Asia to Europe and with the target in sight they set about creating these recordings.
This meeting was to be magical. Nohon proposed his own song, based on a centuries-old theme. After stalking for 48 hours in the studio, Streamer transformed the ancient song into electronic epic for today’s discerning dancefloor.

The band Sputnik from Amsterdam became famous with their Space Age concert program and a CD album "Favorite Song Of The Soviet Cosmonauts". "Sea Cruise" penned by OMFO was originally released on the "KidNap International" compilation in 1999.

OMFO (Our Man From Odessa) used the late 90's cult beat and a soundtrack from the Russian 70's sci-fi movie "Moscow-Cassiopeia". The result is a spaced out track, that was heard in DJ Vadim's set at the time.

OMFO- Moscow-Cassiopeia

The Sonic Monks is a collaboration between OMFO and DJ Goldfinger. The idea behind it was to present the indigenous sounds within the esthetics of electro-jazz production. "Xedijo" is a funky rework of traditional dance of the evenk people of Northern Siberia. This collaboration has grown into a multi-media art project Primitve Equations. It's concieved as a tribute to DIY hip-hop culture with a historical reference to the selfmade flexi records in the time of severe censorship in the Soviet Union. Marynka is a singer/ composer from Moscow based in Amsterdam. Her song "Aviator" was given a disco treat by DJ Goldfinger added some guitar work by D.Riba. Curiously it was featured on the official international compilation CD by Buma-Stemra (the Dutch musical rights association) in 2007.

KidNap Records exists since 1999 in Amsterdam. It started as a melting pot for ideas and music brought in by ex-Soviet musicians and artists and their like-minded friends. It was about fresh sounds, technologies, arts and smart partying. It was (and still is) run by DJ Goldfinger, an ex-Soviet music hunter and collector, living in AMsterdam. Releases of KidNap became cult classics of loungey electronica and were taken on board by bigger ships like 2 Many DJ's, Hotel Costes and Unique Records. The last release of KidNap Records (Streamer’s album “Under A Spell” saw the light in 2006. It drowned with honour in the ocean of digital insecurity together with the sinking ship of music industry. 
But the buzz of initial Bing Bang is still there. KidNap returns with the classic back catalogue, promo's and a view on the new masterpiece releases. 
This Soundcloud page is designed to bring the KidNap sound to the new audience and to foreplay the new releases.
Most previous releases are still available on CDs and vinyl and as digital downloads.
