This is Alchemy reimagined. I sought to do a piano version of the songs but strings called to me as I was playing the song. They added a layer of depth and emotion to the track that I couldn't leave out. Maybe I can go back and do a solo piano version of the song. I've also considered doing an extended mix to include a few elements from the original that aren't present in this iteration.

Leo Islo’s original EP ‘Golden Grave’ garnered well deserved praise last year resulting in a phenomenal remix package featuring @puzl-records favorites Jamie Prado, Birdee and Cabinett. Those sounds permeated across the ocean and caught the ear of Norwegian producer Dan Bravo who specifically asked to remix the title track. We at PUZL Records were happy to oblige and are happy to share it with all of you!

Bravo utilizes Leo’s vocals with resounding success while layering his own carefully crafted sounds and arrangements to produce a catchy hook that will apply to a wide range of music lovers. An array of soft, soothing synths harmonize and decorate the track, while bubbling bass lines build up to delightfully bright choruses rounding out an exceptional composition.

Irish sensation Jay FM graces our imprint once again with his deft approach to the deep house and chillout genres. 2018 has proved to be a prolific year for Jay FM, with the release of several standout EPs in the first half of the year. "This Moment" proves to be another timeless addition to a burgeoning (and truly extraordinary) catalog. 

Opening with a mellow beat, "This Moment" establishes its quiet elegance immediately. Trills of strings ripple across the lake-like expanse of textures, as the sound begins to reach us on distant shores. The arrangement soon evolves into a beautiful array of vocal cuts, backed by a heavy baseline. The phase "this moment is ours" echoes far into the distance, leaving us with quiet reflections. 

Losing oneself in the moment is markedly different than simply viewing or witnessing it, an idea made clear by Jay FM's second track, "Lost In The Moment." A deep, delicate soundscape is punctuated by atmospheric pads and cosmic flecks of melody. Gentle strokes of exceedingly lush vocals enhance the ethereal quality of the composition. A soothing state of contemplation envelops the listener throughout the listening experience.

Closing out the EP, the aptly titled "Sanctuary" bridges the gap between technological and theological: soft breaks joins myriad atmospheric layers, to numinous effect. The nature-infused soundscape places us within the refuge of a park on a calm summer day. Angelic piano keys lift us into a meditative state, as we observe the blur of passersby.

Kidnap is an artist whose music overflows with emotion - rich and powerfully evocative.

Recording in London, Kidnap (real name Matthew Relton) likens his process to that of a sculptor, starting with a block of sound and chopping away until a shape emerges. As such, each song exists ornately carved with a handcrafted subtly.

Still just 33, Relton is already something of an industry veteran. Releasing his first single in 2012 kicked off an eight-year stretch of global touring that came to a grinding halt when the pandemic put the world on pause.

2024 marks a new chapter for Kidnap, with his next body of work on the horizon. Set against the backdrop of a changing world and the arrival of a baby daughter, Relton offers a bittersweet reflection on the passing of time. ‘It’s about looking back on the last 12 years — the touring and the friends and the sleeplessness,” says Relton, “and realising that in order to embrace the life I have now, I need to let it all go.’ The music shimmers with nostalgia. Signature sad melodies dance deftly around commanding synth lines, altogether sounding like an artist with a new found sense of purpose.
