Yesterday I asked you guys what you would like to see the next days and a lot of you asked for collaborations! And luckily Kees was around one day before going to Morocco and brought his fresh Balafoon, Darbuka and some Bongos. I made Broccoli soup. And we were working in highspeed and I simply can not believe that we came up with this track in less than eight hours. Kees also goes under the name DJ Hagel Slag and sometimes he likes to play records in the faster bpm region, so we recorded a track in 145 bpm. I am super pumped to share this episode with you, it was super fun, super challenging and we can not wait to see your reactions. So, buckle up, get your mind right and listen to DAY EIGHT

"This album was inspired entirely by the world that exists parallel to ours, beneath the surface of the ocean.  While it was the appalling pollution clogging bodies of water across the globe that originally motivated me to create this work, it was what I discovered in my research for the record that really blew me away. The unimaginable depth, the infinite darkness, the undiscovered areas, and otherworldly species, it all really struck me.

Over the course of 2 years, I wrote and recorded this project in my studio in Heerlen. Working with, and without intention, getting lost, finding focus, it was a real journey.  

The 2 collaborators (Warrior Queen and d00p)featured on my record added exactly what i was looking for, and the artwork by Fragment:Flow creator, Paul Fennell, ties it all together beautifully.

Pollen presents: FREEBEE002 - Saudade

On our compilation album DGP001 we introduced several new artists who joined our platform. Among these new artist are IT'S U and Thoda. We are fortunate to be able to share that both decided to remain
seeking shelter below the blossoming tree we call Pollen. Although Agustin set the stage firm and well for our first FREEB001, a solo/single artist featuring on FREEBEE isn't mandatory within this concept.

FREEBEE02 sort of came into being on its own and features multiple artist. We started out asking our entourage if the strange corona quarantaine times had delivered them some time on their hands to
produce music. Several artist responded, and the music they handed over, had a surprisingly similar feel.

These strange and desolate times apparently lead to what at best can be described as a Saudade: a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one cares for and/or loves while simultaneously having positive emotions towards the future.

FREEBEE02 features 4 artist and 4 tracks that seem to represent these or similar sentiments. Enjoy listening!
