This is a song I wrote in 2020 about the way I saw society separating and dividing.  Sometimes I think people focus far too much on our differences, rather than all of the things we have in common.

I can’t describe the way my mind switches,

a weight up on my mind, 
I could barely see the light,

but now I do it all the time, 
waving like a flag in the breeze, 
people love to see you fail, 
back down on your knees, 
but not me, I wanna see you grow like a seed, 
then relax in the shade of the tree 
 
Sometimes you gotta focus on looking after yourself, 
‘cause if you don’t look after yourself, 
how can you look after anyone else? 

If I don’t do it now it probably never, 
I got to a place that I wanted to forever, 
but my mind quick to switch like the weather, 
so even when I feel good, I know I’m never getting better, 
yo, I got to learn how to deal with it, 
my brain numb and I can’t really feel with it,
scars deep and I can’t really heal from it, 
put on a beat and I chill with it,  
I could lock myself away, 
some days feel crazy like I’m going so insane, 
a lotta things that I wish I could’ve changed, 
and I struggle dealing with it in the present it’s a shame, 
but I know more than pain,  
I got love flowing through my heart and my veins, 
sunny days I was only seeing grey, 
but the colours coming back getting better every day 

this world will always be better with you in it than without you, 
I hope you never forget that
