Tatters of Carcosa

A nightmare corpse-city built by the vast, loathsome shapes that seeped down from the dark stars. There lay the great Dread Priest and his hordes, hidden in green slimy vaults beneath the dark waves.

Shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous.  Myriads of temporary eyes forming and un-forming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us...
