WARRIOR QUEST

This song started about 8 years ago as the acoustic guitar part you hear in the background. It had sort of a Spanish carnival feel to me. But I struggled to come up with anything else for it, so it sat on the shelf. I dug it back out a few months ago and things started to fall better into place. Like most songs I create, the end product is very little like it started. But that is one of the beautiful things about music. It morphs and flows, taking energy and giving back.  Available on streaming platforms on 12/31/24.

"The Countryside" By Edge Of The Void

Beneath the waking sun, it whispers in the dark
The wind is rolling in, slowly waiting for the call
The rustle of the leaves has got me thinking of the rain
It reminds me where I’ve been, but is it all the same?

Think I’ll drive the countryside, where the earth is at my feet
I wonder why I’m finding beauty in all the simple things
The canvas in my hands as the world it drifts on by
The stillness in the air is where these worries go to die

Heading down that gravel road, I seek to find the way
I wait for nature’s song, where we can drift away

We can try the other side, where you’ll never find a street
I wonder why I’m seeing beauty, in all the subtleties
The world is in my hands, as I sit and wave goodbye
We’ll be on our way to where these worries go to die

I set my sights on the winding trail back
I see that light, the stars will be my guide

AŬSKULTI is a collaborative project curated by Johano Nadabindu from the TUTMONDA sound label. Its main focus is to unite musicians from all over, showcasing their talent, language, and creativity on tracks that are primarily improvised.  
VIVO is the first collaborative track that combines recordings made in person and at a distance.  

Process:  
Johano recorded an improvised piece with a transverse bamboo flute and then added a djembe groove and an udu experiment. He sends the master file to Jörg, who records his own flute in dialogue with Johano's flute. After some editing, Johano invites Francisco Morato to record electric bass on the track.  
Johano ended up editing the track until it reached its final form.  
VIVO means ALIVE, and it is a celebration of life after a close encounter with the possibility of death.
