Quinze ans après, Zenzile et High Tone remettent enfin le couvert pour le très attendu Zentone Chapter 2 ! Les deux groupes de dub les plus mythiques de l’Hexagone relèvent une seconde fois le défi et nous offrent un album prévu co-produit par Jarring Effects et Black Dub.

Une rencontre au sommet qui ravira tous les amateurs de dub, puisque ce n’est pas un, mais bien deux volumes qui entrent dans les bacs: un CD ambiance shanti qui regroupe les 10 mix version Zenzile et le double vinyle, conçu pour les sound system avec 12 mix version High Tone (quatre titres, leur version instrumentale et un troisième mix à la structure encore plus dub).

The 'Dancehall Lover' track has been on the back-burner for almost 7 years now!  I love the cute little cheeky vibe on this.   I commissioned the vocal from Dandelion (of the amazing reggae groups The Hempolics and The Drop).   Massive points if someone can guess the obscure source of the track i sampled!   😆

3. Marky & XRS - LK (Hiphoppapotamus' Sax Edit)

This sassy edit is a free bonus track this month to every one who sign sup to my Patreon!  It features the incredible Dave Sanders on the saxophone who is honestly one of the most amazing musicians I know!  We were so blessed to have him as our very first sax player in Hippo Sound System.   He's now mostly occupied with his modern jazz fusion band... Kill Emil is a DJ and producer based in Athens, Greece – by way of Brazil – who, since 2009, has created a healthy discography of potent beats and sublime atmospheres. With an early inspiration in hip hop, Kill Emil has been prolifically chopping up breaks on his MPC.
He laces hip hop-based beats with his own upbeat rhythms to go above and beyond typical looped downtempo sounds. Sophisticated beats, positive grooves and warm loops characterize his sound while his warm instrumentals border on otherworldliness has matured immensely and he always stays headnoddingly fresh. So it's not surprising that he regularly tours all over Europe.
Kill Emil has been on the road for almost a decade and has a remarkable output of singles & LPs on various labels. His most impressive releases to date have been his “Ghost Diary” LP which dropped back in May, and the “Salvation” LP from 2015, which solidified his esoteric and earthy sound.
In addition to his regular album releases all these years, he has also produced several Singles and EPs with Afro, Cumbia, Latin tunes, as well as a reggae, Hip hop album "A Better Place", which was released in December 2017.
Using a mixed technique of analog samplers and midi controllers in his showcases he manipulates sound with the purpose of creating a personal audio tale for each and everyone, separately, to define and take part in.
