David Morales presents a new release on his DIRIDIM imprint that brings together two artists with shared roots in vocal-led, club-focused music. 

Come On is a piano-led house track built on a warm, rolling groove, guided by a vocal from Leroy Burgess that feels effortless and unhurried. The elements are familiar in shape but handled with a light touch, giving the track an easy sense of movement.

Burgess carries a remarkable history. As part of Black Ivory in the early seventies, he helped define a smooth, melodic strain of New York soul. Later work with Patrick Adams, including projects like Logg and Convertion, moved toward a brighter, more dance-floor-ready sound that would feed directly into the development of early garage and boogie. Tracks such as I Know You Will and Let’s Do It have remained reference points for producers drawn to a rich, vocal-led club language.

Here, Burgess’ delivery is calm and assured, sitting neatly inside Morales’ arrangement rather than rising above it. The piano line cycles with a relaxed steadiness, chords opening and closing around the vocal while the rhythm section holds everything in place. There is clarity and space throughout, with no need for excess.

Come On lands as a meeting of two artists who understand how to let groove, tone and feel do the work. DIRIDIM continues to be a home for music that draws from house’s deeper roots while staying grounded in the present moment.

David Morales launches a new Bandcamp-only series with DIRIDIM DRUMZ Vol. 1, a set of five stripped-back, drum-forward tools that echo the roots of his craft. 

Built for working DJs, each track leans on rhythmic clarity rather than ornament, carrying the kind of precision that has defined Morales since the days when vinyl came packed with versions, dubs, beats and little else.

Across his career Morales has shaped the language of club music through a combination of musicality, discipline and detail. Anyone who has seen him play understands how carefully he builds tension and movement through drums. This series goes straight to that core, offering material designed for layering, extending and reshaping sets in real time.

DIRIDIM DRUMZ Vol. 1 is both a nod to an earlier era and a reminder that Morales has always valued function as much as flair. It sets the tone for a run of releases that reconnect with the tools that helped define him, now delivered through his own label for the DJs who know exactly how to use them.
