Talking Heads Once In A Lifetime (killer Kitsch Krieg Remix)

Okay I'll be honest, this mix by Soulwax hasn't been officially released yet, it's only been available via 2 live dj sets they have done. So I've crudely pieced together parts from from both live sets using Serato Studio to separate the stems and then re editing things in Ableton Live to create a playable DJ friendly version. I have added claps, kick drums and extra sub bass in places to boost the original recording in places.

Wolf Alice - Don't Delete The Kisses (Old Order Edit)

Don't worry i hadn't heard of her either until last week. 

Ended up stumbling upon this track and thought it was worth a go at doing an edit of it. This final version was the 3rd attempt i did, and it's one i'm probably the most proud of as I REALLY altered the arrangement from the original. I felt (the original) it didn't have enough sections that were club friendly, there were too many starts and stops, build ups etc,  So i made it more consistent and i feel club friendly with only one breakdown/build up in the middle, which i extended to make it extra powerful

Semi inspired by the Easyfun remix of 365 i decided to pillage 2 early 90's rave classics (808 State 'Cubik' & Human Resource 'Dominator' ) and then slap Charli's 'Pink Diamond over the top.

My version of Charli XCX's 'So I' using Deadmau5's 'I Remember' as the backing track, bringing it from the bedroom into the club.....And as the song is about Sophie i thought it would be poignant to make a version with her featured in some way, and not meaning to blow my own trumpet i think I pretty much nailed it. 

I spent ages fretting over if i should include her and what song i would use as the instrumental and unless you have a heart of stone you'll probably agree I've done a respectful job of keeping the mood of the track faithful to the original(s)

So here is the 2nd Brat Rave we did at our sold out show @ The Buff Club in Glasgow. 

There is tons of iffy mixing in this mix as i was flying by the seat of my pants and tried to get into the spirit by having a few drinks too...which i rarely do when I'm DJ'ing, but let's be honest that is quite Brat. 

There is a point where my manager accidentally stopped the recording (think it's around where 'Girl, So Confusing' is playing) so that mistake isn't on me.......but the rest are, and i take full responsibility from then (including over using the spiral effect on the mixer)

Monday night in Nottingham really surprised me, Amazing crowd and as i said to the managers 200 plus folk on a Monday is impressive. We'd be lucky to get half of that in Glasgow. 

Also took a walk home after the gig and the next morning to just absorb things and it's a lovely beautiful city, every fast food place were busy, which ended up with me settling on a taco bell instead of a kebab (Trent Kebabs was mobbed). Next morning....the trams seem great and something i wish Glasgow had instead of the subway...and although i did only take one/two stops when i jumped off at Market Square after going the Roebuck Inn for Breakfast i walked the entire way until the Train Station. 

Hopefully this don't sound too condescending but Nottingham you really impressed this travel shy DJ.....and it was a Monday FFS. xxx
