This whole thing started out as a project for our final year of secondary school. We spent over five months rehearsing, recording, mixing, mastering and designing this EP called "The Sound of Doom to Come". We take great pride in the fact that we did everything by ourselves. It didn't come easy: a good amount of money was spent on recording equipment and software, the artist we had commissioned for the artwork dropped us at the last minute, more money was taken out of our pockets when we realized we had to get CDs printed... And that's without taking account of arguments between band members, problems with shitty school computers which completely altered our original plans and other unexpected events that got in the way. Time was slipping away, we thought we could never do it, but here we are. 

When we had this idea in late 2017, the concept was totally different. We were going to cover four songs from four different artists. We all threw in some suggestions, each more different than the last: everything from blink-182 to Rammstein, to Avenged Sevenfold and ZZ Top. It had no real direction whatsoever, but one thing was crystal clear: there HAD to be at least one Ghost song. Ghost was the only band we all agreed on. We eventually said: "Fuck it, let's cover a bunch of Ghost-related tunes." And that is exactly what "The Sound of Doom to Come" is. 

The EP kicks off with the fantastic Subvision song "Room 611" from their 2006 album "So Far So Noir". We chose this one because nobody had ever covered it, it is relatively unknown to the general public and let's face it: this song is just a fucking banger. End of the story.

"Ritual" is next on the menu. Taken from Ghost's 2010 debut "Opus Eponymous", this is the only song that we kept from the initial batch. It's got everything we like about rock n' roll: guitar, bass, drums and badass vocals. Add this up to a sinister organ and a satanic prayer, and you have the recipe for a 21st century classic.

Side 2 opens up with an acoustic rendition of Ghost's "Jigolo Har Megiddo" off of 2013's "Infestissumam". We wanted a change in dynamics, and there is no better way to do so than to strip down a tune to acoustic guitars and quiet percussions. Devilishly sexual and funny.

We decided to end the EP with "Sway", originally performed by MCC [Magna Carta Cartel], a demo that was finally finished and released on "The Demon King" EP in 2017. This composition has so many layers and details, it was impossible to replicate it, but we tried our best. This is the one that made us look at each other and say: "What the fuck did we get ourselves into?". But it felt like the right thing to do. We wanted to close the door on this project and our years of secondary school with this song. The chilling final solo encompasses everything: nostalgia, inspiration and hope for the future. The vague lyrics leave room for interpretation, and we hope you can relate to it in some way.
