Saeko Killy is a Berlin-based DJ, vocalist, and producer. She has been active in the Tokyo scene as a DJ before traveling and landing in Berlin where she plays at Sameheads,Arkaoda, gART.n, OTB, Ziegra Kinder Festival, LYL and Mutant Radio... Saeko started producing weird pop songs since the pandemic started and now playing concerts from festivals to live houses in Europe around Germany. Her debut EP ‘DANCING PIKAPIKA’ came out on ChillMountainRec 2021 and her first album will be released this winter.

“Whether it is traditional or contemporary, we need to be authentic,” says @altinkasetcilik who performs as Anadol.“I don’t claim that I am authentic, but this is what I want to achieve.” A sense of authentic exploration, introspection and celebration coats every inch of Anadol’s latest album. After 2019’s Uzun Havalar, the Turkish artist returns with an album that continues to explore a variety of deeply embedded musical traditions while also hurtling into new terrain. The music and influences – as well as the history, culture and geography behind them – that make up Atila as an artist all coalesce to create something entirely new. The result is something that is simultaneously exploring history and tradition, while harnessing innovative modern sounds and techniques.“If there is any tradition I am somehow connected to, or influenced by, then it’s multi-genres,” she says. “Such as Turkish Pop and Arabesk music from this country where I grew up.There is a connection to Folk and also French pop or Flamenco, Middle Eastern melodies and orchestration, Greek adaptations, Kenny G. solos, American guitars.” (Pingipung). We're excited about VDS Podcast Nr.022 - our last VDS Podcast for the year of 2022! Closing this amazing year with a seasonal atmospherical string-packed journey is none other than one of the heads behind the legendary Pingipung label, Mme Bing from Hamburg, Germany.

Mme Bing, aka Andrea Wienck, is a passionate vinyl collector. She has honed her musical taste while co-running the Pingipung label for over a decade, as well as by working in record shops. She prefers her melodies raw and gloomy, and she selects them very carefully - it’s a rare but always delightful moment to catch her live at the decks.

Dive into this beauty of strings, guitars and melancholic melodies, which Mme Bing herself calls “The heart as a paperweight”. Mme Bing recommends listening to this set with a purring cat on your chest.

@andiotto: When we founded Pingipung as a collective 20 years ago, we were influenced by what was called Electronica at the time. A playful, experimental, curious approach to electronic music production which sounded much more interesting to us than the sterile minimal techno which was so hyped back then. Big shout out to the labels who we loved then, and still love today: Karaoke Kalk, City Centre Offices, Sonig, ~scape, Warp Records, Thrill Jockey, Morr Music, Ghostly … (sadly some are no longer with us).

Blessed is the feeling here when listening to this celestial and mysterious beauty of a mix by @Pingipung's very own Heiko Gogolin (@heiko-h-gogolin). With an almost shamanic vision he weaves a web of rhythm and melody for many returning listening sessions. The working title fits the vibe so well that we had to keep it.  Steadily growing onme it has been great company for many late night work sessions in the bin HQ and I must really say it best fits the dark and calmer hours of the day - filling these with contemplative energy.
