This song started as a jam session between me and Nahlej creating a nu metal sound by mixing hip hop, alternative with metal. Simon added further guitar licks and a solo. Our working title "Heavy Jam" inspired StevieJ to rap lyrics about drug abuse due to low self esteem and mental health issues. All thoughts running through the narrator's mind mind created a sticky heavy jam. Instead of tackling the issues, he prefers to numb the pain with meds and weed. This doesn't solve any problems, so better not try! 
Starting with a guitar theme, I could never have guessed the heaviness of the instrumental and lyrics both. Thanks for your collab, I am very pleased with the result!

The artwork has been generated with DALL E 2, but I invested some work cleaning it up and adding details with a graphics tablet.

I had three songs I was making in Reason Compact, then I realised they were all part of the same song. The first was inspired by painting the words in notes: "The Cat Will Meow" (which ended up in the middle section), the second inspired by a cat meme about a neighbour's cat meowing at the door (with the notes starting at 0:50), and the third with notes inspired by the Ol Long Johnson autotuned meowing (around 2:55). I combined all the songs into one very silly synth pop tune that I call "The Cats Will Meow: お寿司ください！" (meowing for sushi)

This one was fun to make~ hope you enjoy my custom-made meow-synth, also used in my 1st Cat Song "Too Many Cats".

method: some atonal fun with the plastic midi keyboard on a rainy evening
narration: the poem is quite some decades old - last century, millennium even, and all that. it was quite a different life I led back then. the original title is: "an antenna cast into the open" - this also was the first line when I wrote the poem .... but I skipped it for this version, jettisoning the poem into the imbalance that suits its sonification's atonal qualities.
