SON OF GOD

This is a collaboration with Taylor Brysiewicz.  Upon discovering an adequately functioning upright piano in the basement of the conference room at the Banff Centre (where we were both visiting for a conference on Random Algebraic Geometry), we decided to play some improvisational piano duets which led to this collaborative composition.  Taylor had the foresight to take a quick audio memo on his phone where we recorded a few excerpts alongside some commentary about the chord progression.  After returning home from the conference, Taylor turned our fragments into a completed piano part.  I then added a flute part while trying to maintain the impromptu spirit of the original, namely, by locking in some of the improvised phrases from my early takes (as opposed to indulging in my normal habit of making dozens of rounds of revisions).

This arrangement is a Tribute to the composer John Murphy  and emphasises the emotional impressions, as seen from high up in the atmosphere, of the Sun rising behind earth.
I used electronic sounds and effects behind the the electric piano, guitar and voices.
Sheet music from Musicnotes for piano, basic arrangement by Laurie Théberge and rearranged to accomodate sounds, effects and voices.

LOWLIGHT - Super Slowed

I was bored yet again and decided to create this ethereal piece, it took me a while for it to sound alright I know its not perfect but its my dream to continue to make music, There is a bit of story telling to this song, in the beginning the track seems unformed and not together hence the first half being called fragmented, the second half of the song is supposed to evoke that the song has come back together to create a song that has been heard before however there are bits that are different.
