Kim Cou - Traveling Dimensions Podcast #001

@kimcou is one of the new female exponents of the Costa Rican electronic music scene. 
In her DJ sets, Kim Cou is characterized by a deep exploration of the melodic and intense sounds of Techno, Progressive and Indie Dance.

In 2020 she began her journey into music, at first self-taught and then joined the DJLab school in the heart of San Jose. In the same period she formed part of the collective Atypical Noise, currently formed by Artro, Tinzak and Subcons.

In this first stage of her career, Kim Cou is projected as a reference of the Costa Rican music scene, sharing the decks with renowned underground DJs such as Dixon, Morttagua, Jordan Gill, Rachel Raw, Antrim, Adi Dassler, Javier Portilla, Javee, Maria Wabe, Wizard, Salim and Ezequiel Marinoni, in important clubs such as Antik, Bombom, Avalon and also parties such as Electric Animals Day parties and 3AM Techno parties.

For now her goal is to be able to grow as an artist and contribute to the underground scene with her music taste and good energy.

BIOGRAFÍA

Ambos viviendo en Costa Rica, cada uno actuando reglarmente como DJ, era inevitable que David Charpentier y Hassan Maroofi se conocieran en 2007 y formaran una
amistad casi instantánea. Pero fue el vínculo profesional lo que los ayudó a ascender dentro de la comunidad de música dance underground como el dúo de DJ conocido
como Hassan+Charpentier.

La base de cualquier gran asociación es cómo uno complementa con el otro, lo que en este caso fue evidente desde el principio. Mientras uno había perfeccionado
su gusto musical con sonidos progresivos, el otro moraba en sonidos profundos y melódicos.

Es la suma de estas partes las que nos dan a dos de los mejores DJ's underground de la escena dance costarricense.

Hassan+Charpentier han formado parte de numerosas fiestas internacionales con artistas como Marco Carola, Hernan Cattaneo, Jamie Jones, Cuy J, Lee Burridge, Satoshi Tomiie, Guy Cerber, Magdalena, Loco Dice, Damian Lazarus, Sharam y muchos más, asi como como festivales: como BPM, Ocaso y Life in Color.

Hassan v David son parte de la marca promotora ClubbingCulture, quienes dirigen la legendaria fiesta Back To Basics que ha estado presente en la comunidad underground costarricense desde 2003. 

Son veteranos en el negocio de la danza. Es habitual ver a Hassan+Charpentier tocar en las fiestas y recintos más importantes de Costa Rica. Sus sets están llenos de sonidos progresivos, melódicos, groovy y profundos que los convierten en uno de los dúos de DJ favoritos de Costa Rica.

This set was recorded live at Antik. It's a surprise b2b with my brother and Brazilian artist André Gazolla, a master of groove. Three and a half hours of an unmissable ride, a result of the combination of both styles.
