Press PLAY to listen to this podcast! I've interviewed a random traveler from Nashville that I've met in Brooklyn at Gallery Bar while my friend Andrew was painting art / walls of the bar. From discussion to discussion, he told us his birthday is tomorrow. I just told him that I will not gonna let him alone for his birthday and will bring him the entire week end to visit or party in New York. He keep trying to thank me but I don't care, I like meeting and have fun with nice people. He is from Nashville. After that week end, he told me that if one day I come to Nashville, he will gonna take me out! So I said. Right!
I will come! When I say something, I do it.
So yeah, in 5 days, actually, Nashville is going to be the first stop of my road trip in the US!
Life is wonderfully random.

DAY 21 with Gino - random traveler / Podcasts of Portraits

I've met Dotan in Greenwich village, it was around 8PM He was playing piano in the street. Playing Jazz music. It was wonderful to hear. But Dotan isn't only a classic piano player. He plays piano around the world!! bringing his piano around the US, playing in crazy places in Europe and anywhere with a lot of great sightseeing surrounding him. I knew he had a lot of stories to tell me. So...I decided to interview him! And he also played for me :)
And after that, he and his friend took me to places in NY for the entire night, from bars to a private violin concert...woaw...

Only after that, during the night, I've leanrt that he was really famous. He is talented and really humble.

DAY 22 with Dotan Negrin - Piano around the world / Podcasts of Portraits

I've met Joshua with Dotan (check the podcast n°22) in New York.
This is the kind of random meeting I do like in the life. You meet people in the street, then they make you discover a part of their life, a part of the city. We randomly decided to get a drink in Greenwich Village.
After that, they brought me to restaurant in Lower East Side.
Meanwhile, we have heard that there was 2 bomb attacks in New York. At that moment, we didn't know what to do. Should go back home, although a third attack can be anywhere? Should we take the cab, although anything can happens in the street, on the road, anywhere...? We finally decided to shelter at Joshua's appartment in China town for an hour. Talking, drinking.
THEN. Life is short and it is about luck or badluck. LIFE DOESN'T STOP.
We decided NOT TO BE SCARED and to keep going on, to KEEP LIVING OUR LIVES. So we went outside, although we were at one of the riskiest place in NYC that night, at the Italian marketplace at the Little Italy (because it was crowded, so a potential place of risks).
We enjoyed our night, Joshua and Dotan brought me to a private concert in Upper East Side, where a wonderful violonist and singer was performing.
It was just wonderful, one of my most random night in New York with New Yorkers. After that, Joshua brought me to a a gallery...where the door in the back opens on a luwury bar. Crazyyyy!

DAY 23 with Joshua - new yorker / Podcasts of Portraits

I've met Nikita at JWT New York.
We were randomly sitting next each other. Just because we had too. He was very quiet. So I started to talked to him.
By working until late at night and eating lunch together sort of...every midday for 6 months and we became friends. For many many reasons. That's why, for his last day at JWT, I really wanted to make him part of my podcast projects. Actually, we were sitting at Bryant Park, near the workplace.
We have spent hours to talk together during our experience at JWT. About The United States, our dreams, life, and food, and everything. Mostly about food. And pizzas ;)
Also, how funny we noticed that we had the same sense of humour even if we grew up from two different cultures.
As a matter of fact, Nikita is Russian(and I'm French). By the way, he is one of the lucky boy who won the green card at the lottery.
But what you don't know, guys, are all the things you have to do after having learnt that you have won this card.
So how is it to have to stay 5 years in the US to officially get your green card?
How do you live this distance US-Europe?
How do you feel about the culture gap?
What do you think about relationships in New York?
What's in your mind...?
Your best moment in your life?
The funniest thing you have ever done in your life?

I already asked him some of these questions but wanted you to know that life isn't that easy for everyone.
That New York is really special. Wonderful. Crazy. Great. But also weird. This part of weirdness that you can only know if you have lived there at least few months.

I've met John at JWT New York. Recocgnizing his Britsih accent, I was curious to know his story. To the question "Tell me about the day you decided to come to New York city", he said "I didn't really decided to come to New York City, I decided to come to the States for an Adventure..." 
I wanted to know who was the story of Sir Codling, who also is an amazing photographer. It's only after 6 months working with him, that I decided to ask him to take part of my podcast project while we were lunching together near from the office, between the buildings of Manhattan, not far from Lexington Avenue.

At the end of my stay at JWT, he offered me his edited book of photography with the inspiring message "Keep Making".

Grigory was one of the models I've met in New York. This Russian boy came to New York 1 year ago. He told me about his story, how he get there and the reasons why. He told about how it's hard to live in Russia, more precisely, to be LGBT in that country. So he has left his country and now feels himself in New York where people are open-minded. This photoshoot was in Brooklyn in a total improvisation mind. So for 2 hours we had time to learn about each other and share about the experience in New York. He really is a sweet person and I wish him the very best.

DAY 30 with GRIGORY - model in NYC / podcasts of portraits

Florent was my mentor in an advertising agency in New York. In fact, I didn't know anything about advertising before I met him. And I actually had nothing to loose to learn so I was lucky that he gave me this opportunity to grow. Even if you are "young" and "definitely has no experience", there are nevertheless some rare person who remember that they were young once. And who has the heart to give you the chance to grow even if they don't technically have the time but still take the time to help you. From a little seed to a plant, then maybe one day, being a tree.
They transmit you their expertise and the know-how like they can give to the seed, the water it needs. They give you their trust to shine, like the sun makes the plant bigger. Florent, behind his strict voice, is poise, is one of the rare leader i've met in my life that made be grow by teaching me a the main things I know now in advertising. I remember I didn't stop asking him questions and questions. He challenged me, he unblocked some of my advertising complex saying "the blank page doesn't exist. It doesn't exist. Just start."
And then, Everything has changed.

DAY 32 with Florent Imbert - Creative director in NYC / Podcasts of portraits

I've met Fred at a bus stop, in Montgomery, Alabama.
It was a 14 hour-one-way-trip from Nashville to New Orleans.
We started to talk about nothing. And finally, about everything.
