Inspiration behind the song:
A few weeks ago, I was among many attending a funeral service. A well respected elder in our community had caught a stray bullet and lost his life in one of the political scuffles in the capital city. All week I quietly wondered about the actual cause of this death. 
While all sides continue to blame each other, we continue to lose fellow Ugandans; young and old alike, and I continue to wonder: what is the cause of all these deaths? Does the cause of 'democracy' truly require bloodshed of one Ugandan against another? 
We are all Ugandans, we all love this country, and regardless of the colors we wear, the same flag is in the air. 
Is there truly no other way to build our nation?

This song was a result of me trying to find an expression for what I and many like me felt and continue to feel and grapple with during this time. We mourn the tragic loss. 
And we believe there must be a better way.
