🗯🗯 What are you missing the most since March 2020? 🗯🗯

I miss to play in front of people, to see the reaction from the audience and exchange looks and smiles. It's about sharing emotions, feelings and moments. I also miss the feeling of being in a club, to be in the crowd and to feel the energy on the dance floor. I miss that feeling you get when you go to a club, you get a natural high. I miss those peaks of the emotional highs that we get from dancing. The exitement you get from dancing surrounded by many people and listening to music at a loud volume. you get an amazing emotional release. I miss dancing and communicating with my friends and even people I don’t know. I miss techno..

🗯🗯 How did you prepare this mix and what was your main inspiration? 🗯🗯

Well, for this mix, my main inspiration was to imagine people dancing during listening to the mix. I also danced on my own recording it :). I also thought what the nightclubs has offered and will still offer to everyone: hedonism, the possibility to live out their identity or their desires freely, less anarchy, more love and forget the time :) … The mix is divided in many style; from trippy and floating techno to something harder and galloping. I had fun recording it in my studio and I hope people will feel the same feeling when they listen to it. We need to dance!

Welcome to DRR Podcast 085, This week we welcome Lee Holman from Wexford, Ireland.

An uncompromising underground ethos, Lee Holman has garnered support from a host of Techno's brightest names. 

Performing in clubs since the late nineties, he has travelled throughout Europe, North America, South America, Asia and everywhere inbetween, compounding a reputation for his unique vision on Techno. Playing a fusion of deep, raw and energetic electronics, his sound creates a myriad of tension, constructing the perfect combination of musicality for club appearances.  

Performances both as a live act and as a DJ have unlocked opportunities to share hallowed ground with Techno’s elite, appearing in prestigious underground venues such as TRESOR Berlin, Corsica Studios London, 8Bahn Arnhem, Sub-Scape Antwerp,  Move Medellin, Tag Chengdu, Arkham Shanghai, Nechto events Kyiv + many more.  

Production has earned him international recognition, leaving his mark at the forefront, building a reputation for consistency, originality and delivering his dynamic sound on both cutting edge and classic Techno Labels. Generating consistent support, he has remixed for high profile artists such as Aubrey and Gary Beck and has himself been remixed by leading Techno mainstays ranging from Orlando Voorn to Mike Dehnert. 

Founding the Kawl Imprint, the label’s aim was to provide diversity in Techno and this formula was immediately picked up on and amounted to rave reviews and impressive charts and plays by leading connoisseurs of the underground. 

This year, his releases have been frequent and in demand, with his production skills confirmed for Knotweed Records, Science Cult, Shaded Music, Nechto and more, adding to an already excellent discography.  
With an ever expanding release schedule, combining remixes and a new label project called Demarcation, 

Lee Holman promises to be unrelenting in his definition of essential timeless Techno.

Born in Aleppo, Syria, Kimmy Msto is a techno DJ hailing from Hannover’s music scene.

Since his humble beginnings in 2009 his career has quickly progressed and over the years he was a resident DJ at several Hannover’s clubs: Underground Club, Bella Wuppdich, and then from 2016 at Weidendamm Klub. He ran his ‘Code‘ ‘Othercult’ and ‘RooTs’ parties there, as well as occasionally in Uebel und Gefährlich club in Hamburg. Thanks to his uncompromising passion for techno he has played many of Germany’s clubs and parties: spots like Griessmuehle, Butan Club, ://about blank, Klub PAN, RSO, IPSE and Laut Klub, or events like STAUB Berlin, Klubverboten and Viva la Electronica and many more.
