Dub Militance: A Soundtrack For Your Local Consciousness Uprising

What a magical adventure at the Enchanted Forest Festival! This is my set at the Saucy Spa stage, which was dripping with goodness all weekend! Really grateful to play alongside so many of my heroes! Thank you to the Saucy Spa crew, Bronner's and Enchanted Forest for having me! This set focuses on beautiful vocals and melodies for the forest fairies, with tasty bass drops of course, and that last track is a favorite of mine that I threw in with some beats underneath to end on some nice gospel vibes.

This set is a collection of lo-fi jazz influenced instrumental hiphop tracks. This sub-genre is largely being produced and inspired by (while being super relaxed about it) the thriving lofi hiphop/jazz hop culture coming out of Japan as well as North America. 
I love this genre and have been collecting my favorites from it for a while now, it makes me happy to start to share them.

music nerd with a small following based mostly on my finds. i hunt daily. i have been trying my hand at mixing since august 2013 and i rarely edit my mixes at this point .
kimmyk is a product of the new North Western sound system culture, upholding a strong respect for musicality and sonic detail. Kimmy spends hours upon hours each week exploring what moves her, discovering and accumulating rare treasures for the discerning ear. Her mixes on Soundcloud offer cross-genre depth without compromise; supporting her shift from long-time closet digger to dance floor sorceress.  She's spent recent years making rounds in Vancouver on the same bills as most of the Lighta! Crew members and warming up crowds for bigger headliners. She's also nabbed prime spots at “The Field” and will be playing The Living Room Stage at Shambhala 2016 .... as well as several after hours spots throughout the last couple years.
