New York-based, Jamaican producer, Frano, teams up with Kindness of Bearer Recordings on his debut release, “Well Qualm”. Frano, a bassist by trade, has a sound characterized by low-end and rhythmic swagger. The song is based around cascading Thundercat-inspired bass chords that sit on top of a robust drum beat that combines a 4 to the floor foundation with reggaeton elements. The sound has a haunting, otherworldly quality - Frano imperiously strikes a delicate balance and creates a careful tension between a sound that is sometimes mysterious and ghostly, as well as periodically playful and euphoric.
