My name is Shalam (J$Roc)Smith Sr. Born in Houma and raised in Old Harvey.  It’s been a while since my first album dropped in 2005. When hurricane Katrina hit that’s when things started to look up for me. After returning home and rebuilding, things took a turn for the worst. A lot of so-called homies counted me out and didn’t think I would make it. But after 11 years in addition and 4 years of recovery (15 years) later SHALAM RECORDS / TruKaine MUSIC is on the rise again. 

Thanks to all who left me, counted me out, and left me for dead. May ALLAH have mercy on y’all souls. This brick is for you. The rebuild is for you.
