THE HAPPY SUFFERER [STORY]

One month had passed 
when happenstance found Declan Kelly walking down the hill
at South Bond as King Tide singer Tony Hughes was walking up it. They stood chatting
under the pine trees. Declan watching the wind blowing right
through the window of grief that was Tony Hughes.

Declan, said he liked the poetry Tony was writing, dealing
with, trying to make sense of his great loss. Declan suggested
he bring them into his studio. To wrangle into song form and
record them for an album. Then in unison, without missing a
beat of the conversation they said. Let’s get Robbie Woolf in
on the sessions.

ONCE UPON A TIME GIRL

The single Once Upon a Time Girl.
Is the first release from an album of eight songs by The
Happy Sufferer. The full self-titled album is to be released in
September. The album was mixed and recorded by Declan
Kelly Co produced with Tony Hughes.

Three songs, the first
single included, have been mixed and Co-produced by
Grammy nominated producer Justin Stanley [Prince, Jimmy
Cliff, Paul McCartney, Beck]


The Happy Sufferer are
Tony Hughes, Declan Kelly and Robbie Woolf.
All three have played for many years in the touring band King
Tide, releasing three albums with the band. King Tide has
toured nationally, playing every major music festival in the
country: releasing tracks and albums in the UK and Japan and
becoming, by far, one of the most played rock steady, reggae
got soul band on Australian radio.

King Tide were hand-
picked to be the touring backing band for Jamaican
Rocksteady great Stranger Cole &amp; dancehall originator
Johnny Osbourne

Tony Hughes previous band: Belly-dance
Belly-dance released A.R.I.A award nominated and JJJ album
of the week “One Blood” on Regular/Festival. The bands
second album “Babylon Mixed Business” was released
through Roadshow music.

Declan Kelly
has released several albums under his own name. Touring
and recording with: Bernard Fanning, Katie Noonan, Bobby
Alu, Eugene Hideaway Bridges, Garfish, The Strides

Robbie Woolf
Has played with a Who’s Who of Australian talent - from
Diesel to Karise Eden, from hip hop artist Phrase to Luke
Steele, Silverchair &amp; Ruby Boots, Guy Sebastian,The Dynamic
Hepnotics, The Mighty Reapers, Tim Finn, Ian Moss &amp; more.
