The success story of six time New Zealand beat boxing Champion, king home boy is a remarkable one. Born in wellington, in the early eighties, proud Maori Paul Teariki Toki aka king homeboy was technically deaf until the age of seven. However it wasn't until much later in life, at the age of seventeen, with a storm raging outside and suffering from a heavy cold, that the young king to be discovered the sounds he could make and enjoyment that went with it. Over the years and with countless hours spent practising and developing those skills. the king homeboy is now a six time NZ champion, a world record holder for the longest non-stop beat box and has also showcased his talent in Berlin ( 2012 beat box battle world championships) and New York (2014 The American Human Beat box Festival).
 
King homeboy is a big fan of hip hop and his idols include Doug E Fresh, Killa Kela, Bobby McFerrin, Kenny Muhammed, Rhazel, Click the Super Latin, Micheal Winslow, Micheal Jackson, Tom Thum, Faith FX, Roxorloops, Eklipz, Beardyman, Dub FX, KRNFX, Afra, Timbaland, Zap Mama and Mihirangi.
  
The king is passionate about developing young kiwi talent, providing a free workshop (May 2013) teaching the principle skills in beat boxing.
