Born and raised in Nigeria, KING LEKAN moved to New York City in the early 2000’s to further his education and music career as a professional Pianist, Music Arranger, Music Producer/Singer-Songwriter and Music Director.

In 2012, King Lekan started a music production company called The Music Geekz (TMG) and caught the attention of Missy Elliott’s “The Road to Stardom” winner Jessica Betts. Since then, King Lekan has had the opportunity of performing for various artists and celebrities, including Deepak Chopra at his mansion in San Francisco.

In the Afrobeats Music industry, King Lekan is the most sought after Music Director in the diaspora. He has had the opportunity to work as a Music Director & Pianist for Nigerian-International superstar artists such as; Wizkid in various venues across North America, Europe and Canada, Mr Eazi in various venues across North America, Europe and Canada and on various occasions including the James Corden Show, Coachella, South Africa (Various Venues), Haiti and Europe (including The O2 arena); Tems at various shows including Afropunk Festival and Jimmy Kimmel Live; Fireboy DML in various venues across North America as we well as his Apollo Tour in North America; Davido for his “30 Billion” Tour in NYC; Olamide for his North American Tour; Adekunle Gold at various performances in the United States; Stonebwoy at the first ever One Africa Concert at the Barclays Center as well as various venues across the United States, AfroNation in Puerto Rico with Yemi Alade; Omah Lay for his North American Tour; Nigerian-American Rapper; Wale; Akon and many more. In addition, King Lekan has also performed alongside African legendary Grammy winning artist & humanitarian, Angelique Kidjo in NYC.

King Lekan has produced for various artists such as Moelogo, Lion Babe and many more.

In 2020, King Lekan decided to explore his many talents and stepped out as a Music Producer-Artist. Since then, King Lekan has also released two projects, “No Time” (Released September 25, 2020) and “Sounds From Lagos”, which is an Instrumental project (Released January 29th, 2021) which both has over 600K streams across all platforms, and two singles, “All Night Long” and “Shine”, both released in 2021. King Lekan has also been featured in various media outlets such as Native Magazine, The Guardian, NotJustOk, Forbes, Earmilk, Kazi Magazine, Hype Magazine, Crookes Magazine, OkayAfrica and many more.
