:Coop was born Eddie Cooper on August 16,  in St. Ann's Hospital in Chicago, IL. Showing that he would never live an uninteresting life, Coop rebelled from birth, falling asleep halfway out the womb. Growing up in what he would consider a stable home life, Coop was a quiet child that was strongly bonded to his family and friends. His childhood best friend, Reginald Dunson, otherwise known as Reggie, is still his lifelong friend and confidant. 

In 1997, Coop began his journey in music from a fan to an artist. Distrikt 87 was born and consisted of 4 original members: Jacolby Johnson AKA 'King Jacob', Keith Moore and Darnell Johnson AKA 'Katch22' and Eddie Cooper AKA 'Coop'. From the fruition of Distrikt 87 came two future CD's titled: 'Welcome to Raiderville' and 'Creep Squad "The Montage"'. 

Graduating in 2000 from Bloomington Raiders, Coop excelled in English and had a passion for large vocabulary. A self-taught rapper, Coop is a high contender in the rap game. Using his life force to articulate strong feelings of self worth, humility, value, and determination are just some of the messages that Coop brings in latest CD. "SEARCHING FOR EDDIE COOPER" is the title of the latest CD, which will feature 18+  tracks that are explosive in sound and content. The release date for "SEARCHING FOR EDDIE COOPER 2 (TRAPPED IN THE KAOS" is set for the end of summer 2013.

Set with the belief in mind that it only will get greater after death, Coop has no fear of dying, just fear of not living. When asked if he could be anyone from history, his answer was compounded with certainty. He answered: "If I could be anyone from history, I would be three people. I would be Leonidus for his pride for his people, Albert Einstein for his extensive brain power, and Malcom X for his social awareness, black civic, and personal pride". Anyone who knows Coop, would say that he is a current combination of these three great men, with a fire and inner passion that cannot be snuffed out. When asked what he thought heaven was like, Coop answered that "it must be the opposite of earth". Bringing an understanding to complexity of human emotion and desire for comforting oneself in times of harships..
