On May 5, 2019, my former homeroom classmate at Franklin High School, fellow student athlete and friend to not just me, but to the very soul of my community of Highland Park, was tragically killed alongside his brother in a hit and run attack. As a community that has been through a lot, and as a person who has experienced death in the worst position imaginable, we decided that this event would no longer be a part of the news cycle, and forgotten the next day. The goal of this video is simple: to provide emotional healing to our community through the power of song and get these two drivers to admit to what they have done, not through threats, but through peace.
