Whenever I write a new song, I always want to get it out for people to hear immediately. I'm directly inspired by the music that others are making and also by everything else happening around me, so it makes sense that when I write something new, I should let it be heard as quickly as possible… right? A product of its environment.

That's what I did here. I wrote this song over the last week and immediately thought to give it away on Soundcloud, as quickly as possible. 

You've all been really good to me, so I'll keep doing this as often as possible without compromising the quality of the material that I'm giving away. I definitely don't want to just hand you guys "filler" tracks. Anyway, I have a lot of music in the pipeline, so there won't be any shortage of material from me in 2013.

Bro Safari - The Drop

In anticipation of our album coming out this Wednesday, May 22, UFO! and I have decided to give away one of the tracks today.

This is song #6 of 10 on the record and it's called Burn The Block. 

The album, Animal, will be a free download. We will post links on our social sites on Wednesday morning, so that you can grab the whole album in .zip format. You will also have the option of downloading the songs, one by one, on our soundcloud pages, but we recommend getting the zip file and listening to it as a whole!

We'd like to offer a very sincere thank you to everyone who has supported our efforts as a collaborative team over the last few years. We truly love working together and we're already planning our next album. A lot of time and energy went into making this happen, and the fact that we can give it away for free, on our own terms, is amazing. So, THANK YOU!!!

So… 

Here it is. The album that we've been talking about for over a year. Scheduling conflicts be damned, we made it happen! Yes, the process was long, and at times it was even a little grueling, but we stuck to our guns and we couldn't be happier with the results. 

Originally, we created about 16 tracks for the album, and then we narrowed it down to the songs that you have in front of you today. It was important to us that we create a collection of music that crossed multiple styles and genres, yet told a coherent story. It's not an easy thing to do, but we feel like we pulled it off by using themes, samples, techniques and by consciously assessing what did and did not work together.

We feel like there is something for everyone on this record and we're very pleased with the fact that we can offer this to everyone for free. All we ask is that you listen to it with an open mind, share it with your friends and come say hello whenever we play a show in your city. 

So, once again - Thank you to each and every person that showed us support over the last few years. We love working together, and have already discussed plans for a follow up album. 

For now, enjoy ANIMAL!
