Frank makes the coffee. According to lore, he done so twenty years. Afore that, he was a trucker, but he fell from a rig, and wounded his leg. Twenty years on disability. Says it’s only 65 bucks a week. Thing is, Frank don’t work for the store, he just makes the coffee. People like him, and even the manager, that’s me, has got no real complaints. Frank is a squat little fella with a messed up nose, a big fat belly, and a terrible limp. But even with that, he qualifies as a looker. Now he’s always talkin’ about his daughter and grandson, and one day, I put some of them stories together and figgered out that daughter he talks about was my grade school teacher, and I met his grandson when he was just a baby. Now we got way more to talk about than I’d actually like, but his company still rates highly. Now, frank is not well, every day he has a tougher and tougher time moving around, but his mission remains clear, make the coffee… in trade for appreciation, one banana, two papers and a chocolate for David, his grandson. Well I tell you, I’m not alone, holding my breath, ‘cause one day, I’m sure sooner than later, who ever working the overnight shift, gonna stand at the door in expectation, waiting for the man who has always arrived at 4:00 am on the dot, and one too many minute will pass, and they will know, that Frank has died. But we go on, smiling with this funny old dude, helping him move about, drinking that coffee, and holding our breath, ‘cause you never now what night’s gonna be that night.

Kings in Crowns are a new hip-hop triumvirate that artfully combine edgy soul, fierce attitude, and a pinch of good ol' southern charm and grit. The group was conceived in 2012 by rapper Onehunnit and producer BIGfoot BEATS, who had met up and collaborated through SoundCloud. Soon after, Onehunnit called in fellow Dallas native Charley P. to complete the trio. Together they have a chemistry that not only complements each rappers' flow, but also emphasizes the raw power hidden in the mystical beats provided by BIGfoot. With this lyrical dynamism and the majestic and clever sound constructions, there is something captivating and almost esoteric about the music of Kings in Crowns. Its spontaneity will keep you on your toes, but the grooves it drops into are hard and fresh enough to keep your mind focused on the cadence and content of the words.
