FM Bleedthru was originally part of the 2003 Fight Myself album.  I re-recorded it in 2013 to for fun.  I had intended to never share it with anyone again-- possibly only for a special disc one day if it ever came to that.  Definitely questioning my re-posting of it here-- seriously-- I guess its for nostalgia-- experiment-- sharing the past.

I've always wanted to play with Dave but you know how music works-- different projects get started.. whatever.. still sent him some tracks-- just his part btw, not even the whole song-- he sent back vocals, I finished the song around his vocals.

Burn Me A Hole

Can you tell which part of this song is recorded with a 7-watt guitar amp and which part is recorded with a 150-watt guitar amp?   not kidding-- went to 2 extremes to see if I could match them up with the studio.. two completely different amps that sound completely different.

The Basics

This is song has been recorded a whole bunch of times.   The original 8-track version had a feeling though and I think we finally have it to where the emotional feelings of the original are here yet the production value is a little bit higher.   Hopefully, this song will never be recorded again unless its a live recording of a public performance. (guitar solo version on original)

This song was originally recorded about 7 years ago and it had all kinds of foul language.   However, I liked the song.   The original vocals are largely intact however,
you can hear how either my technique had improved or software has improved because its the same hardware and the same mic and the new vocals live on the same track as the old- same resolution same sample rate... ? and I don't think I'll fix this.   It is what it is.  and its done and I can share it now.

Hi Octane 2020

I had to write this song (lyrics and vocal melody) and record it with a band as part of a test for an audition for the lead singer position.   I literally wrote this song and recorded it over night and based on my voice, I got the gig!!! woo!  I was going on a major label metal tour as a lead singer!!! as it would turn out, I was bigger and bulkier than the rest of the band and so it was just too weird.. they were all short and really skinny soccer players.  At least I wrote one heck of a thrash tune.   Too much "trying to be like Axl" anywyas.

acoustic guitar song with Jason Mills playing bass (soundcloud.com/bassmills).   Maybe its a funk song.  who knows.  There were times during the production where I just wanted to take the final chorus (starts at 3:02) and just loop it about 6 times and make that the whole song.   Also wrestled with the thought to put gates on various drums so you couldn't hear the resonance which you most definitely can in places-- ultimately chose not to.   I didn't watch Jason play bass on this so I truly have no idea what his fingers are doing.  Should this be how music is even for the performers: a total mystery???  you tell me

Recorded performances by King Solomon Drive.  "Burn Me A Hole" was recorded on a 2008 Gibson SG.  After the recording was complete, the guitar was sold.  "Down" and "Breaking Me Down" were performed entirely on acoustic guitars with no amplifiers.
