Back with a second installment of their exploratory collaboration “Curiosity” this week is Traxx and Shuko, who have created another dozen pieces of synth-infused, space inspired sounds drawn from instruments like the Matrix 6, Prophet 10, Prophet 6, Juno 106, Prophet X , Polybrute, OB-6, Neve 1073, Siel - Cruise, Prophet 600, Moog Voyager, & a Moog Subphatty.

Since the release of Curiosity Vol 1 Traxx has earned more gold and platinum plaques from his work with French artists like Kalash Crminel, Youssoupha and Lefa, along with production on the Ace Hood single “Free” while Shuko produced tracks on Donda by Kanye West and 1176 by Guapdad 4000.  

Together they have brought the best of their abilities to the Curiosity series, each one pushing the sounds of the other into unexplored territory, leaving enough sonic room for others to push the tracks even further.

02 - Galaxy

It’s been 2 years since his last release with Kingsway, and with his latest instalment Daniel East resumes where he left off. Most recently contributing to the likes of Summer Walker, Boslen, and Justine Skye. Daniel brings forth a familiar yet darker, textural, and harmonious experience, piecing together instruments akin to a puzzle in this 12 track library, with various switch ups and sections. Utilizing sound sources from Frank Dukes “Cradle Audio”, synth emulations, vintage guitars, and pianos, this is Daniel East at his sharpest.

Kingsway is back with a debut volume from john wehmeyer, an LA-based producer and multi-instrumentalist who has worked with many buzzing artists across genres, including mynameisntjmack, Kate Bollinger, and Tommy Richman. 

Originally from Virginia, John plays guitar, bass, keys, and is classically trained in upright bass. By combining his experiences working in Hip-Hop, RnB, and alternative genres, the majority of this atmospheric and melodic volume was created over the course of two weeks this past summer in John’s studio in Burbank, CA. 

We’re super excited to share John’s debut Kingsway volume. He also shared some sauce with us  of his recording process, including using: 

- a Fender deluxe guitar amp for tracking electric guitars w/ sm57
- the u87 for tracking nylon string guitar, vox, and percussion
- sm7B for tracking vox & percussion
- u87/sm7B sent through analog preamp & compressor [Heritage Audio ’73 JR & dbx560A]

The Kingsway Music Library is a boutique sample library created and curated by Grammy-Award winning producer Frank Dukes. Initially a place for Dukes to release volumes of his own compositions that were then sampled by many producers and artists on many pinnacle songs of the last decade, it grew to include compositions and releases from many young up and coming producers such as CVRE, FORTHENIGHT, Mino, Louis Bell, Wallis Lane, Allen Ritter and others.
