Jonah, a prophet, called by the Almighty God,
But fear and Cowardice cut like a sword.
The call was clear, the task was dire,
Yet Jonah’s heart burned Like a Selfish Pire.

"Go to Nineveh," said the voice from on High,
"Warn them of wrath, lest they surely die."
But in Jonah’s mind, Judgment Seemed fair—
He’d rather see ruin than Mercy there.

Nineveh Weep, their sin was deep,
But Jonah turned, to run and sleep.
A Coward’s path, too scared to Fight,
He fled from the call, into the night.

He found a ship and paid his fare,
Hoping to vanish, vanish into thin air.
To Tarshish he sailed, trying to escape God's Call for his name,
But the Storm came and guilt Re- called his name.

The Sea grew Wild, the Winds did flare,
The sailors trembled, caught in despair.
They cast lots, and Jonah's name arose—
The runaway prophet, the one who God Chose.

“Throw me over,” he cried in despair,
“I’d rather die than answer this prayer.”
Into the sea, Yeet, cast away,
Swallowed by darkness, lost in dismay.

And then came a Beast, not fierce but Divine,
A fish ordained by God's Design.
It swallowed him whole, into shadow and slime—
A prison of Mercy and Disgrace,

Selfishness Swallowed by a fish—it rhymed all too well,
In the belly of a smelly fish, where the Cowardly prophet had to dwell.
Three days and nights in that silent deep,
Sea Weed and Fish Crap, no food, no sleep.
There in the dark, his heart began to crack,
Regret rose up like waves at his back.
“I Ran, I Feared, I turned from Your Way,
Now here in the deep, I’ve got Nothing to say.

But You are Just, and Your Mercy is Wide,
i Call to You now—don’t cast me aside!”
And God, in Love, gave him one more Chance,
The fish gave a Queave, and Jonah Danced,
Spat on the shore, cold and worn,
A prophet now Saved, though still torn.
To Nineveh now, he took to the street,
With Fire in voice and dust on his feet.

“Repent!” he cried, “Your end draws near!”
And to his shock, their Ears did Hear.
From king to servant, sackcloth they wore,
And God’s Great Mercy opened the door.

But Jonah got Bitter, climbed a hill,
His Pride unbroken, his Anger still.
“Why Save them, God? They deserve the Flame.
You always Forgive—it's always the same.”

A plant then rose, by God's hand it was sown,
To shade his head as he sat alone.
Jonah smiled in Comfort,
A small relief from heat and Snare.

But come the dawn, a worm did bite,
The plant shriveled up before the Sunlight.
And Jonah, in wrath, Cursed the sky,
“Let me perish! Why must I try?”

Then came the voice, Tender yet Bold,
A question not New, but Eternally Old:
“You care for the plant, that rose then died,
Yet Rage when I let Nineveh slide?

The Shade was brief, it came and went
You showed it more love than the Souls I let in.
Shall I not have mercy on thousands below,
Who wander in darkness, not knowing My Glow?
They don’t know left, nor do they know Right,
Yet you’d rather see Wrath than Share My Flame's Sight?
Open your eyes, Jonah, can't you see?
My mercy is wider than that Fish At sea.”
